  1. A 2846 will work for a 5500 case as far as I know. You could also try a 2452, or a 2472 to get a 18,000 bph rate. The date wheel will have to be removed, but there's not much to that.

Excellent, do you know what size ETA movement ring I would need?  Would it be the same ring for both the 2846 and 2452?

There are quite of few of these movements available on the bay but most are marked 'for parts only' or part of actual watches.  I would probably lean toward a donor watch so that I know the movement has not been sitting out in the open, exposed, for who knows how long.  Any opinions, good or bad, on using this approach to procuring a movement?

  2. A DSSD genuine insert cost around 800€ so I think a genuine sub c insert will cost around 1100€ because it is more rare to find one. But personally I would never spend that money for an insert even if it is gen, I prefer save up some money to get a gen 116610LN or 114060

Yeah, I agree that's an insane amount to pay because you would probably never get that back.

  3. Ken,

" Not when you are dealing world wide there's not." I agree but what juicemouse said above is true "The only people that use Western Union in the United States are people who send money to jails and prisons." and illegals and green carders sending money to foreign countries, it has a stigma. We do not us it here we are not comfortable with it and whether right wrong or indifferent it is what it is, in my over half a century here I known no one who used it or even saw someone use it in passing at the local super market except once "I" was sent money last week. People with means use other methods and you need people with means unfortunately. I gather in other parts of the world it is more mainstream just not in the good old USA.

I remember seeing them in the grocery stores when I was young but I don't even see those anymore.  WU could have pioneered the online currency business but they were satisfied with the status quo.  Doesn't surprise me with 2.3M people under correctional supervision in our nation's jails and prisons.   That's a lot of commissaries!

  4. I personally don't like WU because it is a pain in the ass to setup. I tried once and you have to go into a Western Union retail location and complete the registration. Then you have the exorbitant fees. The only people that use Western Union in the United States are people who send money to jails and prisons. There are just too many better options to bother with it.

  5. Looks good to me - indeed very good. More pictures please. Insert a little bit white. I´m curious - if somebody can tell, please, how much is the total setback for watch+platinum mod+shipping+Tritec relume+shipping again? Thanks:)

After doing some research, I think it means getting some acetone, some platinum colored paint and a fine tip brush. :)

I'm thinking scale model paint but I wonder if anyone that has done the mod can share which brand paint/color they successfully applied.

  6. As far as i'm concerned, when buying a rep, just be mentally prepared for some hiccups...But of cos, depending on what sort of scenario we are tokin about?

In lifez,LUCK plays a part...Everyone or everybody i can say,is taking a risk everyday in reality...This applies, when we decided to click the "Buy" button from that particular rep dealer whom you choosed...

What we are paying is less than 2% of the genuine products...End day,rep dealer is also trying to make a living,so when you have less expectation, lesser dissappointment will follows,haha...

From the post earlier today in general folder,i does agreed that not all descriptions that dealer post are 100% accurate, its just an advertisement. But since i choosed to buy from them,i can only trust them...

What comes around goes around, once bitten twice shy, thats all i can say...By the way,it's just my own perspective tot.. :sweatdrop:

Huh? All I was saying is that 5 watches is a lot to buy for a first purchase. Go big or go home right? Enjoy you watches :)
