  1. It would be fair that the driver pays you 450 EUR to compensate for package loss, but keep in mind that if you ask for more money than the package was insured for, he could go to the police and report you blackmailing him...
  2. An update regarding my original problem with faulty autowind: got it fixed at a local watchmaker, it seems that a couple of parts in autowind section somehow got broken/bent. After replacing them, the watch seems to be working fine. The watchmaker told me that most of the parts from this movement can be exchanged with a certain Seagull one, but did not tell me the exact model.
  3. Hi, I just got UN Blue Surf with Asian 23J automatic movement. If I wind it manually, the watch works fine, but it does not wind automatically at all. The rotor just spins without resistance in both directions. The wheel connected to the rotor spins together with it. Power reserve dial fills up when manually winding, but drains (slowly, as expected) even when I wear the watch for the whole day. Hand winding the watch does not make the rotor spin, so I guess the click spring is ok. Also, I have noticed that the watch does not hack when the crown is in time setting position, and it is not possible to move the crown to switch from date to time setting, and vice versa. Instead, I have to go to the winding position and then to one of the others (did not try to move anything with force). Does something like this looks like it might have a simple fix, or some parts could be broken? Many thanks. EDIT: added an image to describe the problem better: Wheel 1 turns together with the rotor in both directions. Wheel 2 turns only when manually winding (I do not know if it is supposed to turn with the rotor or not) Could not notice any movement of wheel 3 when I move the watch so the rotor turns.
  4. Hi, My Chopard MM GTXL's cyclop is not exactly centered on the date window, and I would like to rotate the crystal a bit (only a few degrees). Is it possible to rotate it without taking it out of the case? I was thinking that it might work with the help of the duct tape or something like that... Is something like that possible at all, without damaging the crystal (or the seal with the case)?
  5. Sorry, that 6 inch is the bracelet measurement of some of her other watches, and not of the wrist.
  6. Hi, I'm thinking about buying men's 38 mm ceramic Chanel J12 for my girlfriend, and I am worried if enough links can be removed from the bracelet to fit her smallish wrist (she does not want ladies 33 mm version). So, can the bracelet of 38 mm J12 be resized for ~15 cm (6 inch) wrist? If not, what is the minimal length of that bracelet? Thanks
  7. Also, should I buy another movement to have it as a spare? How long these movements have been on the market, could they be pulled from production a couple of years from now? None of the 250?M movements on the Cousins site seems to be an exact match for this particular configuration, but I guess that those can be used for spare parts...
  8. I did not see any reviews of this particular watch, so hopefully this will be useful to somebody. Anyway, this was my first impulse buy - 3 hours after finding out about quality replicas and these forums I was looking for some elegant watch, without too many complications. After a lot of searching for a nice $300-400 gen, I have almost settled for an Invicta. What a mistake would that be. But, I simply could not find anything both classy and simple in that price range. This Patek beats them all in looks and price, by far. The watch was bought from Josh (after reading a lot of recommendations on the forums), and it was a fast and pleasurable deal. Note that the model of this watch is misspelled "Calastrava" on the dealer web site. General appearance and finish: Superb, I could not find any faults except a minor one on the back - the letters "Patek Phillipe" are not perfectly aligned with the rotor (can be seen on the picture), but I had several persons look at the watch, told them that there is a flaw there, and they could not see it. Crystal, case and the caseback are a perfect fit to each other, the dial is very clear and without any faults. The crystal does not have any magnifying/distorting effects under any angle. Also, it has a nice weight for a dress watch, which is a major plus in my book (hate the watches that I cannot feel on my arm). Strap: It is fitted to the case with the screws, on which I used Locktite Blue as a precaution. The strap itself is a bit too shiny, and the front has a plastic feel, but I hope that it will look & feel a bit more realistic after some wear. Movement: The watch has a standard Asian 21J movement, which works fine so far (after ~2 weeks of use); it is keeping good time, being less that 8 sec/day slow. The rotor is quite noisy though - it can be clearly heard in a quiet environment, but it is not that bad. The model of the movement seems to be one of the 250?M from the Cousins web site, like 2501M with power reserve modification. Accuracy: I could not find gen model which looks like this one, so I guess it is the fantasy model. Not a big fault since nobody know how Pateks look anyway. Overall, I am very satisfied with the watch, and I plan of wearing it in every occasion I can. A definite recommendation. P.S. Had I funny moment when I got to thoroughly examine the watch: "Wtf? They wrote 4 as IIII instead of IV? Ha ha ha...". 5 min and a couple of Google searches later, I bent my head in shame...
