  1. Can't recommend SSTeel enough. That man is pure gold - talented, very fast and very, very helpful.
  2. Nightwatch: Thank you *very* much! I'll go right ahead and build myself one like yours, but how does one go about purchasing stuff from yobokies? I can't seem to find any info?
  3. Um... Nightwatch, how did you go from the Seiko SNZH57 to the Fifty Fathoms? Where did you source the dial and the hands? It is ->amazing<-
  4. Yep, I think that's the one. Too bad Toro claims that "It high quality movement , we already sold out so many pieces ." and that's that. I have the option of returning it for a refund but I would get the same crap movement back. So now I'm trying to find out what parts from the SOSF will fit on a clone of a 2836-2 it and what parts won't I really like the watch itself, so this will probably be my first franken-thingy.
  5. Hm... There is a tangible buzzing sensation when you mention it, and to add insult to injury it would seem that the mechanism does not wind(!) when winding using the crown. The automatic movement seems to be fine. The movement seems to be a H-factory crapspecial, according to other threads. A "clone" of a 2836-2 is that it is sold as, but that, according to other members, is a bit ... creative. I'd happily swap it out for some other movement, as soon as I come to grips with what actually would fit. I'm still too new at this to have found my way out of the woods just yet.
  6. As my recently arrived Steelfish seems to be of the same ... questionable quality, I'm getting more and more interested in doing this as well. That's what I get from not reading enough on the forums before buying stuff... A couple of questions, if I may: is an actual clone of the 2836-2 or an actual Swiss ETA 2836-2 a straight drop-in? Is the crown transferrable to the new stem, as I would imagine that the 2836-2 stem is different from the stem in there now? Would the rep dial fit an actual 2836-2 (even though I would have to either get gen hands or modify the rep hands)?
  7. I just received a lovely H factory Superocean Steelfish v2 from Toro, but the power reserve is, well, a bit of a disappointment. A bit of a disappointment on the scale of not keeping the watch running overnight. I tried winding some 60-70 revolutions and left it alone, and just 7 hours later it stopped. I read in the other thread that the movement seems to be a piece of junk, but since I don't have a Breitling caseback opener I can't even get to said movement to see if I can spot anything especially amiss. Does anyone have an idea of what to do? I suppose that if I send it back to Toro chances are that I'll just get another crap movement back and basically be where I'm at right now. Can anyone recommend a watchsmith who might be able to a) open the "#%#€ thing and b ) actually do something about it? It probably helps (and not) if I tell you I'm in Sweden.
  8. Ah, crap. As I suspected, then, something is off in the movement. Now for the thousand dollar question: is this something that needs to be taken care of, or is it more of a cosmetic issue? I'll check out the R2D4 thread, and thank you for your time! *edit* And to answer my own question: it seems that the stem is a tad too short, and this is a common problem with the POs. Several members seems to experience said problem, but I could find no-one who actually have had issues with the movement due to this. I can only surmise that this is more of a cometic issue then, and I'll wear the watch in very good health. I searched for "short stem" in the Omega subforum, should anyone want to read the threads I read.
  9. Hi all, I've recently taken delivery of a Noob LMPO from Torobravos, and I love it. I'm a bit curious about something though; when I screw the crown back after manual winding, the watch gets wound all the way until the crown is screwed in tight. Is this normal, or should the stem decouple from the winding mechanism in some way after pushing the crown all the way in to fasten it? I'm also curious to find out what gen parts are possible to graft onto a Noob LMPO? Is there a list of what parts are compatible out of the box or similar that I've simply been unable to find?
  10. Welcome to the forums aarvidsson :)
