  1. What are you trying to do? The 8500 caliber PO comes in ceramic black or metal orange as standard/ the only way. Titanium blue I believe is a liquid metal bezel like the lmpo. The old 2500 caliber model is the only one that had a painted metal bezel so why would you want to copy that with a 8500 rep? I'm confused.
  2. Yes I agree the blue is more gen on the 2500 but I believe if you order a replacement gen 2500 crystal now they come neutral ar now which I found strange.
  3. So you used a noob crpo crystal? Looks very blue ar so makes me think its bp crpo crystal.
  4. Love this watch. Awesome. Sent from the Pad of I
  5. Cousinsuk will get you 45.5mm and 42mm crpo bezels all day long. I have a gen orange and a gen ceramic. Sent from the Pad of I
  6. https://www.cousinsuk.com/category/abrasive-blocks This is what you need chap. Word to the wise. Practice on a spare bracelet. A long straight sweeping motion in one direction only with the block and keep contact with the hole bracelet surface as you sweep plus keeping a dead straight motion for every sweep. These are key to getting all the grain lines going in the same direction and parallel like the factory finish. Also every sweep across the engraving will make it shallower and wider. The engraving will also become less defined. You'll need to work on just the scratch 1st. Keep brushing this bit only till the scratch is gone. Then brush the hole clasp a minimum number of times until the clasp grain looks uniform. Just 5 or so good brushes over the engraving will be enough to start changing how it looks so be careful. I like the roughest grade but it's really personnel preference. Good luck Sent from the Pad of I
  7. Think it's pretty much a done debate. Noob make the best POs. They have correct neutral ar, better bezels and unlike bp they can take gen case parts ( gen bezels are sweet). They also have a functioning gas escape valve ( made just like the gen) bp valve is fake and ar had blue tint ( don't know if they still do). Also noob qc is considered better but that may have changed too. Bp are still great reps and the only ones to make the GMT. Noob are the PO daddies for the generation.
  8. The clutch lever that sits in the groove of the castle gear ( I think it's called that) has popped off. I tried my hand at a fix and found it after a bit of a learning curve quite easy so it's doable if your up for it. There are a couple of guides ( google 2836 keyless works guides) which are step by step. Just need a few cheap tools. As long as you don't force anything you shouldn't do any damage so if you give up you can still send it to a watch maker.
  9. Cheer! Know what you mean about puretime. Service on the selling side was bang on but communication and getting a replacement part is hard work. They have responded now and are going to ask the factory if they have a spare clasp. I would still buy from then though with a low expectation of after service care but hey, thats kind of par for the course in this hobby and the product (except for the failed link) is fantastic. My friends gen 8500 side by side with this one is a real close call. On a side note. I couldn't find anyone (like cousinsuk etc) with the new clasp design yet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  10. My noob 45mm op had very tiny swirls in the ar 2 weeks after I got it. I only ever wiped it with a new micro cloth. I drove me crazy so I took it off with a dremil buff and simichrome. Looks spotless in bright light now if slightly more reflective. Does anyone know of a company that does double AR with high resistance or is this the same with the gens too? 11. Hi all. Got this watch a few weeks ago and I have now noticed the clasp extension groove has been cut too deep leaving hardly any metal to support the watch and bracelet. There is already a stress fracture mark on the reverse side of the link and it will only be a matter of time before it goes! I have sent a request for a replacement ( I offered to pay too) part to Puretime but so far I have had no response so I thought I would take the initiative and ask what options are available to me. i.e. point me in the right direction to buy a replacement part or clasp. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thank T Ps I know I know! its Planet Ocean lol. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  12. Hi Where might I get a gen clasp ? My noob 45mm Seamaster clasp extension is about to go on mine as one of the grooves in the link that flips out of the main clasp ( dive extension) has been cut too deep and has a fracture line across it after 1 week ( imminent failure ). I have asked puretime ( who I bought it off) if they can send me the link ( I even offered to pay) but after 3 emails over a week no response. Any advice on where to get a bracelet clasp would be much appreciated. Many thanks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  13. man thanks guys. Was easier than I thought! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  14. Hi all 1st time posting. Got my 1st rep recently (noob best version orange 45mm) and have noticed that the clock face could do with a very tiny clock wise adjustment so it is aligned to the watch case perfectly ( ie the 12 position is top dead center to the bracelet / links above). Is this doable by a noob. I'm confident I have the dexterity and access to correct tools but I don't want to wade in taking the back off and removing the hands and movement only to find it's too complicated. Any advise would be much appreciated. Many thank. t
