  1. BUMPITY BUMP

Didnt want to make a new thread of a pretty much identical subject, how good are the WSO 580 Endlinks? Are they good enough to put on a gen 78360/93150 bracelet on a megafranken MBW 1680? Or are any other end links preferred(which aren't gen of course)...

  2. thanks Legend...that was what i thought. so the datewheels he is selling here appear to work with lwo283 swiss movement?

I am thinking of modding an ap roo and i am looking at swiss movement options. Just starting to do research now. The simpler method appears to just do a swiss eta 7750...whereas the lwo283 takes more work and is more complicated. is this a correct assessment?

With a swiss ETA, you can't have gen dial or hands.

With LWO, you can(or any movement with a Dubois-Depraz module). That is why LWO is used on frankens.

  3. The days of Rolex Explorer Ref.1016 Cartier are gone. Now everyone looks for new brands of Cartier Watches like Cartier santos galbee piccolo, Cartier watch tank francaise, W20056d6  Casrtier santos, W6701004 Cartier ronde, Pre owned cartier tank. Who would like to purchasre your Rolex Explorer Ref.1016 Cartier?

Well, a gazillion collectors of vintage rolex, thats who... These often fetch up to double the prices of "regular" 1016s in the same condition at auctions...

  4. Sure, but you can shape them.

What I understood was that the stubbyness was that they were too short? Therefore not possible to make right? Am i wrong?

Both lovely watches, none the less.

  5. Didnt want to start a new thread about this, thought you guys in this thread would know this...

So, I want to start a franken 5513 build. And first thing I think about is case-set.

    What should one get?

    1. Phong?

    2. Vintage Watch Maker(ridiculously expensive)?

    3. MBW, can you even get those anymore(PM me if you got one, if its good)?

    4. NDT?

    5. Vietnam Case( where does one get those? M2M only?)

    Please enlighten me!

And it needs to fit gen bezel assembly.

Im thinking gen bezel assembly, gen white gold marker dial, gen crystal, crown, maybe ge tube, gen insert, TC V2 hands(correct length etc?), swiss lowbeat ETA.

    What do you think?

Going for that newly serviced at RSC look.

Prob a grey NATO until I can afford a gen 78360/93150.

Thanks in advance guys! Love all your builds, want to get into the 5513 club!

  6. Yup, the bezel does rotate, they are and they aren't a Datejust, basically the same but a different reference number altogether. The seller is holding it for me until he get back from vacation, so I'm still thinking about it. I do like subs though and have been offered one by a great forum member so I may just go with the Sub.

    Ok i understand! Cool!

Of course, its a different ref number, although it does share all parts excl. Bezel with the datejust, am i correct?

Wow, straight trade for a sub? That sounds like a very good deal!

  7. With the way current Rolex parts prices are now, it's much more difficult these days to come in under $1,000 for a DateJust that was all gen except the movement. Would be doubly difficult with an ETA movement and if you were doing one with a WG bezel (16014, for example).

I think 1k is pretty much the going rate for such projects. After all, you can get the gen for 2k. 1603, 16030 for an example, maybe 1601.

  8. Thanks, how much do TC watches sell for? And does he do the LN version of the 16610?

Where is he in the world and is he easy to order from if not in the UK. I have read on here some scary stories of watches getting grabbed by customs or not arriving at all. As I understand it's a risk buying a rep £350 is a lot for me to lose. Apologies for all the questions

Read all about TC at http://blog.tc-sub.com/?m=1

Never heard of TCs stuck in customs.
