  1. Gen crown should fit no problem. If not swap the tube out. Tubes are cheap.
  2. Is this the same version that Josh and Andrew have for sale?
  3. If those are gen dials, I would not refinish them. Sell them on VRF or ebay, and buy a couple Yuki or NDtrading dials if you want something refinished. Even the ugliest damaged dials sell for upwards of $500 these days. If you refinish it, its worth $200 or less. I also question the authenticity of those dials especially the first one. dizz
  4. Yep thats what happens, and thats all it takes. Unless you use exactly a 1.2mm screwdriver, you run the risk of pushing the button in too far and pushing the keyless works out of position. Its not difficult to fix but you do need to remove the movement, dial and hands to access the keyless works inside the movement. The rubber o-ring is simply for adding water resistance to the crown. dizz
  5. I find the ETA2824 is better suited for the old 1600 Datejust case that takes the 1570 movements, but to each his own
  6. i agree.. not even close to gen. Does look like the stock DW crown. dizz i agree.. not even close to gen. Does look like the stock DW crown. dizz
  7. Glad we could help!! Now lets discuss that avatar you have there!!! Awesome!
  8. ETA2836 easy swap. Wont use the gen hands though. Need ETA Tudor datejust hands off ebay. I've built 3 of these now and they turn out great!
  9. This is the same one Josh sells for $198 Yuki's complete watches in this $400 price range are just regular reps and do not use his custom case parts or dials. Appparently wont take a gen size dial or plexi... He used to have that complete 7922 Tudor big crown using his parts but it was like $1800. Its no longer available. dizz
  10. You can probably use the same stem. Just measure the exact length from the inside lip of the crown to the end of the stem so you get the length exact after you swap it. Are you sure its the crown and not the tube? The tube would be cheaper to replace so hopefully thats the problem. You should probably replace the tube while you are at it. Tubes are about $12-15 on ebay. Yuki also has a gen size crown and tube for $60. Maybe someone can chime in as to its accuracy. dizz.
  11. Or spend $125 on a new ETA2836 and then you have a DSSD super duper extreme V9.3 that would cost you $400 from a dealer... Either way throw a movement in there and bring it back to life. No point scrapping it if thats the only problem with it. dizz
  12. I have an extra gen Datejust 16030 silver dial if that will help you out. I'll send you a PM.
  13. Quick question... If i get a Yuki 6538 case thats made for a Rolex 1030, will an ETA2846 fit in there with an adapter ring? Stem height?? I have a plan to buy a members watch here that was offered to me a while back, but if that falls through, I am wondering if you can sneak an ETA into a Yuki case made for a 1030? cheers dizz
  14. Still not available. I just asked him a few weeks ago. He says both the case and dial are discontinued. Too bad, it looks pretty nice. I can imagine it was probably expensive when it was available. dizz
  15. Yes get dial for 16000 case... 16030 for example. Crown is 6mm
  16. Wow thats a cool combo!! Can any of the dealers here get rep Rolex cufflinks? I want some stainless steel ones!
  17. 2836 will fit easy. The stem isnt exactly lined up but its close enough to work. Every rep dial that i have personally seen is way bigger than the gen dials so gen might be your only option. Luckily they arent very expensive. You can use the adapter rings from Raffles-time but they need to be modified. They didnt fit into the case so I had to take about 0.5mm off the outside diameter, then you need to notch it for the movement tabs because the whole ring is too tall. dizz
  18. Very nice!!!! I think i might have to build one of these also. You should go with the 7206 Bracelet from Yuki. Its perfect for this watch dizz
  19. I got a gen 19mm stretch rivet bracelet on ebay for about $150. You cant beat that. There is no good replica of a 19mm folded or rivet bracelet. Prices have gone up lately and they are closer to $400 now. Still worth it IMHO. Nothing compares to a gen Rolex bracelet. DW offers a new V23 copy movement or at least I know its something in the works. You can email him and ask. I know its about a $300 option so Im not sure what movement it actually is but he says its fully properly serviced and reliable. That will give you the correct subdial spacing. The 7750 dial spacing is too far off for my liking and I wouldnt be happy with it. I dont know much about the st-19 but it sounds like an interesting solution to the correct look. You can get a st-19 based daytona looking chronograph on ebay for about $160. You can take the movement and hands and probably the endlinks off it! Sounds like a good deal to me.
  20. The only thing i dont like about the Noob bracelet is the horrible Rolex stamped cornet on the clasp. It looks rediculous. Its nothing like the gen cornet. The WM9 cornet is pretty close to gen. I dont really care about endlinks so I dont know whos got the better ones, but By-tor is the endlink guru so hes the guy to listen to. A WM9 bracelet might be hard to find since the factory has vanished. BK's new Submariners have solid links I believe, so the Noob bracelet might be your only option. I have a Noob bracelet with gen 93150 clasp on my MBW16610 and im pretty happy with the look and feel. dizz
  21. If your movement is screwed I would contact the seller. And the tube is stripped? was this all disclosed in the sale???? If not then thats not cool. Hopefully you didnt pay the cost of a new one to receive one that needs servicing out of the box. Anyways if you want a quick replacement movement you can get the slow beat DG2813 movement and throw it in there. It even comes with a usable datewheel. They are about $20. For the plexi, get one from clarkes or ebay. They range from $30-60 for aftermarket but if you want a gen t-19 you will pay closer to $100, BUT it makes a big difference. When it comes to Rolex plexi, its always better to go gen. Its optically clearer with less distortion than a aftermarket plexi. I also notice that my gen Plexi's are more scratch resistant than any of the aftermarket ones. There are some good bezel inserts out there, and you can get pearls from Yuki or Ofrei for about $20. Expect an insert with correct pearl to cost you $60-80 for aftermarket. A gen insert will be $150 at least but its worth the money IMHO.
