  1. I dont know much about the Milgauss but i am willing to bet that the first one is fake... the second hand is longer than any gen pictures I can find. The gen second hand is just to the minute marker indicees on the dial, or slightly shorter depending on the angle.. on this one, the second hand is much longer. I would be careful with this one..
  2. How much are you looking to spend?? You can do a cheaper submariner modded for about $200-300 or you can do a better MBW or Yuki cased version for $1000+ dizz
  3. Whats with that Sea-dweller pic?? WOW look at that top SEL. You can see the freekin springbar in that massive gap. lol
  4. "Comes with a generic gold tone and ss jubille style band" maybe $30 not $300 I'd want to see pics of the movement before getting too excited about this one.. It could be rusted out and barely working, or it could be an ETA or Tudor modified ETA....
  5. I always get a kick out of when they say "extra seals and gaskets installed... " lol uhm ok.. where do they install these magical gaskets??? hahaha I agree with Alligoat.. get the noobmariner.
  6. Woo hoo!! Take some pics when you get it! dizz
  7. You can get a gen white dial 1680 with boxes and papers for about $5500-6000 is you look around... I saw a few without papers or anything for around $4500 16800 and old 16610's are starting around $3000 usd. Prices are falling fast. I agree that you should keep it and enjoy it. You'll never get your money back on that one. Ive got about $1500 into my 1680 and its an MBW case and currently the ETA 2824 movement.. everything else is gen. Toss in a $1000 for a good 1570 movement and i'm at $2500 all gen except the case, and i know I'll never get my $2500 back if i try to sell it... dizz
  8. Does the iphone have a macro setting or is it just all automatic?? Those closeups look pretty good.
  9. Wow the watch sounds awesome... you are into the movement alone for $2500?? ouch Sounds like you got a good deal on the bracelet and end links though.. Is that the 93150 bracelet?? I'd buy 5 of those right now at that price.
  10. If you look on ebay you can get inserts that look like a yachtmaster bezel... you can do whatever you like, its up to you. I have personally never seen anyone do this but it might make for an interesting result.
  11. The Tudor date magnifier is more to the edge of the crystal.. its a t-115 or something i think. I know its definatly not a t-127 because i have an old gen crystal off my old Snowflake and its not the same date position. You would also need the correct movement with the datewheel out further.. not sure if you can mod the 2824 to move the datewheel out... Doing a non-date would be a lot easier thats the only reason why i suggested going that route.
  12. Or you can take the extra 11 (non jewelled) gears out and freeze the second hand subdial so it doesnt move, and get the whole movement properly serviced at the same time. Then you will probably be ok. A lot of watchmakers, that work on replicas, wont even touch these seconds at 6 movements though. The new "improved reliability" version of this movement has only ONE extra pivot jewel, but in general isnt much improved. Your best bet might be to find a preowned one for sale from a member here that is properly working. Thats might save you a few bucks because the servicing of this movement is going to cost you as much as the watch itself. dizz
  13. Looks good!! ,,,why dont you use your PT1680 as a base for your snowflake project? Just swap out the dial and crystal. If you use a non-date Tudor dial, then you can even use the same movement.
  14. Yes everyone seems to have a different opinion about what position to have the stem in when releaseing it. I find its the best to do it in the winding position, but others prefer to release it in the time setting position. The problem with these ETA movements is that the keyless works are very sensitive and easily damaged. You have to use the exact correct size screwdriver of 1.2mm i believe otherwise you run the risk of pressing the release in too far, thus damaging the keyless works. It is for sure an easy fix IF you can put the watch back together afterwards... Awesome jesture from Justasgood to repair it for you, he definatly knows his stuff. dizz [edited for spelling]
  15. the HEV on my DSSD is much larger than on my 16660 sea-dweller, and the 1665 sea-dweller is even smaller yet. Even if they were the same size, they dont look the same
  16. I rememeber selling my 100% gen ROlex Tudor snowflake sub on ebay about 10 years ago and some idiots kept reporting it and getting my auction shut down. Ebay even went so far as to suspend my account because they said i was selling counterfeit items on ebay aka Replica Rolex watch. I freeking SNAPPED on them. Idiots didnt know that Tudor was a Rolex company and they saw the pics if the rolex crown and bracelet on the watch and shut my auction down.. I hate the people that report you "Just in case". Thats just plain STUPID. Funny that JJ didnt notice the fake noobmariner.. LOL.. thats priceless.. Mr Expert hahaha dizz
  17. The WM9 is the older style 16610 Submariner... the New "Noobfactory" 116610 ceramic sub is the new supercase sub with ceramic insert and guidelock clasp. There is also a Noobfactory 16610 old style submariner if you want that.. Either way, BK has what you need. WM9 is going to cost at least double the price of either Noob Sub so it depends how picky you are on exact details and what your budget is.
  18. Good luck, they are all crap. Its hard to believe that such a popular watch is also the most unreliable. You might have better luck going with a vintage daytona with a a different movement, but all the new style Daytonas with seconds @ 6 movements are junk. Mine lasted only a couple days before failing completely.
  19. I like the story about the 5513 that fell into the engine of a ship that the sailor was working on... and he found it a year later in a puddle of oil under the engine a year later. I love how that watch looks!! The chunks of out of crystal looks pretty hardcore!
  20. WOW and the OP has 6000 posts and he was fooled by a Noobmariner, then got banned because of it? Yikes!! I wonder how much he paid for it.... I cant see someone with 6000 posts putting up pics of a replica Submariner on purpose... Dizz
  21. Awesome!! I love the V72 it looks great!!!
  22. i wear it kinda loose. I can get my pinky finger between my wrist and the inside of the clasp. Loose enough that it feels comfortable and allows me to move my hand around without binding up. If it can spin around your wrist then its too loose. I like it comfortable, but not loose so it flops around. A little bit tighter than the old photo above. Maybe one clasp notch tighter. dizz
  23. I like what you did with the crown. I guess you could carefully do this with a dremel also. It gives you the old Triplock/702ish look. I think the newer 24-703 crowns look out of place on the old 5513-1680-1665 watches.. Im going to try to dremel down one of my extra gen 703's right now and see how it looks. I guess you just have to be careful not to mangle the threads too much since the outer wall the other crown where the threads are is pretty thin... Dizz
