  1. I had a seconds@6 rep with black dial.. sent it back for warranty and never saw it again I love Daytonas... one day maybe I'll try to own one again.
  2. The broken sec@6 that i recently bought runs for about an hour (after full winding), then starts to lose time, then it stops randomly. I wonder if its too late for some graphite treatment. This mod is way beyond my skills so im not gunna attempt it myself. I can take a watch apart but cant always get it back together hehe. Those little hands are impossible for my big shakey fingers to reinstall dizz

Exactly my problem too. I have a 702 triplock but WOW i cant find a tube anywhere. Jeweleryandwatch has them for $175 i think but im not gunna pay that much for one. I told my local Rolex guy to save me a used tube if they ever get an vintage rollie in for service but that may never happen
  4. crown guards look pretty good to me. Kinda hard to see the date font with the minute hand covering it but it doesnt look too bad.
  5. There are two version of the triplock. The older 24-702 and the newer and current 24-703. The older 702 uses a smaller case tube and they are not interchangable unless you install the other tube. The only problem is trying to find an old 702 tube. They just dont seem to exist anymore. You'll see lots of old 702 crowns for sale because if you can find a tube for them, but the tubes are $150+ usually. ouch. I know the 702 crown is skinnier but i thought it was the same 7mm diameter. Pics would help a lot in this case. Need pics of front and back of crown pls.
  6. the old asian movement has had lots of problems. the new 28,800 fast beat is the newer improved model. I would never buy a watch with the old 21,600 movement
  7. Prob one of my least favorite Rollies but you took an excellent photo!
  8. That way you can wake up in the middle of the night with your necklace wrapped around your neck choking yourself lol. Whats wrong with wearing a watch to bed? Why take it off? Who cares and NO there isnt anything the matter with us people. If anyone thinks they are going to damage their watch when they are sleeping should be more worried about damaging it in day to day wear. I rarely shower with my watches mainly becasue i dont want to get soap scum buildup all over it. It stayed cleaner if you dont shower with it on. I wouldnt wear my PAM or my Breitlings in the shower especially my diamond BCE (again the soap scum). Sometimes i wear my 16610 in the shower but i know its for sure waterproof so its no big deal. I have diamond stud earrings that i never take out except to clean them once in a while but thats only becasue they are screw backs and a pain in the ass to take out. Actually when im wearing my Bentley Chrono T 49mm, sometimes i take it off when i sleep only because its so freekin heavy that ive woke up and found that my hand has fallen asleep and all tingley haha (no joke).
  9. "Polystripper" or whatever that paint remover is called. That stuff works GREAT for removing any kind of paint or varnish.
  10. a proper bezel and insert, t-39 and a gen crown and tube would improve this 200%. Looks like a not bad DRSD to me.
  11. awesome!!! those crown guards are beautiful!! dizz
  12. Thats exactly why i asked if it looked that way in 'real life' or if it was just the pics. Magnified pics always show details and flaws that the naked eye cannot. I'm sure we will all grow to accept the engraving as time goes on. Just the same way as everytime a new body style BMW comes out, i HATE it... but then it grows on me haha dizz

wow that looks awesome!! amazing work as usual!
  14. Yep acitone works very well. I just be sure not to get it on your skin. It will dry out the skin under your fingernails and it will hurt like HELL for a week. dizz
  15. sold for $57,000?? wtf Those are the WORST pics ever wow.
  16. This is VERY slippery stuff i assure you all. I wonder if it would stay in place inside a watch movement? It sure could make a heck of a mess in there. I wonder how long the layer of graphite would last before it wore off? A "vapor thin layer" might not last very long. Sure seems like an interesting idea anyways.
  17. The quality of the asian movements is getting better and better. I wouldnt worry about ETA disappearing in the next couple years. Who cares! I have already started to switch to ordering Asian movements in most of my watches. Look at the new decorated Asian Swan neck dagger movements in the new PAM's! WOW they are nice! and according to some watchsmiths, the new asian movments are BETTER than the Swiss ETA counterparts! Equal fit and finish and better shock protection for half the price! You guys just wait.. in a couple years the Chinese movements will be rock solid and bullet proof! dizz
  18. Thats a beautiful watch! I love the lug holes! Dont you dare change that case!!
  19. Yeah for $500 you are for sure getting an Asian7750 that you can buy from a trusted dealer here for $200-$300. The Asian 7750 actually isnt all that bad of a movement. One well known watchsmith (The Zigmeister) says that once you service the asian movement, its almost as good as the swiss ETA version. I would personally rather buy an Asian7750 and get it serviced right away for less $ than buying an ETA7750. BUT watch out for the seconds@6 versions.. they are JUNK. They use a really bad conversion design to get the subdials in the right place. dizz
  20. How does the rehaut engraving look in real life? It look pretty "rough" in the pics.
  21. The closeup pic probably is making the rehaut look conical. The engraving sure does look horrible though yikes! My old non-working chrono Daytona from 3 yrs ago has better rehaut engraving by far! They always have to f**k up something dont they? lol dizz
  22. Wow that sounds like an interesting story! Hopefully someone has the link!
  23. wow thats nice! This 2mm bars look great! Beautiful watch! dizz
  24. Doesnt the sub have the same 520117 serial number also? At least some of WM9's pics showed that same serial #. Can you say "Noobmariner"?
