  3. Vintage Rolex franken modders please help me So ive been trying to make my singer great white dial look old and water damaged... I've heard of people doing everything from re-luming it yellowish (very comon but im to shakey to paint tiny dots) to soaking in coffee for a few days to using "spray on varnish" I tried the coffee thing and it didnt make any difference at all... and spraying varnish on it seems a little extreme. I have heard of people using heat (heat gun?) so age the markers to a nice crude yellow/orange. Has anyone tried this and can anyone provide me some tips before i burn and destroy my dial?? We need a GOOD dial modding sticky in the how-to section.. I tried searching and of course i cant find what i need. I want to either build another MBW sea-dweller or MBW1680 thats REALLY weathered inside and out. I want the heavy water damage/aged look on the dial and hands. I want it to look like a 30 year old tool watch thats never been in the AD for service. Has anyone tried using heat?? This is a picture of the look i am going for, except maybe a little better with the "coloring inside the lines" with the lume but this one still looks pretty cool. I love the color of the markers on this one. Its NOT my picture and i dont know who i stole it from Maybe someone can just sell me a MBW 1680 red or white dial that thrashed and make my life easier ha ha Lonnie
  4. Awesome!!! Hopefully a proper sec@6 will come out sometime soon and I'll take another stab at a Daytona! Lonnie
  5. These new Rolex designs sure are "unique" haha Whats with the strap? Is that supposed to be some kind of diamond Ostrich pattern or something? haha I dont like it and wouldnt wear it. Dont get me wrong i LOVE bling but this is just gay Lonnie
  6. "comes complete with thug music" LOL Its funny how buddy is so impressed with these reps. In the last one he was speachless over the SFSO rep and said you could probably show it to an AD and they wouldnt even know it was a rep ha ha ha I have one of these 44mm chrono avenger reps with swiss ETA 7750 and in stainless steel and its an AMAGING rep except it doesnt have any AR and you cant even see the dial half the time because of the glare. Its absolutely perfect except for the bezel pearl and lack of AR. Lonnie
  7. im so sorry to hear about your loss. I cant even imagine how hard that would be. Your friend Lonnie
  8. I set my watches off my Blackberry... close enough for me Lonnie
  9. Take the breitling.. you'll see a lot of cool watches there and yeah do not take a credit card LOL I went to Vegas in march Bar and Nightclub convention and took $2000 spending money and ended up spending over $5g and have nothing to show for it. Its an expensive city. I went to Pure night club.. on the patio.. 2 vodka redbulls and 2 shot of Jager was $48. yikes! ha ha ha Definatly check out the big watch stores.. You'll see some crazy bling there Lonnie
  10. hhmmm thats strange... did some moisture get into the watch? was the crystal ever foggy? Sometimes these little imperfections give the watch lots of character and make it look more "real" Post a picture if you can Lonnie
  11. The Zigmeister!!! WOW this 7750 sec@3 review is gunna be BIG news for all of us i can already tell. I sure hope people like you had some influence on this new design and hopefully its been done right. I am looking forward to reading your review!! I hope you and Jennifer had a good little vacation as short as it may have been. If you are ever heading to the west coast one day, i will take care of you guys for whatever you need. Did i mention that The Zigmeister took my busted down old ETA movement from losing 3 hours a day to being accurate within 2 sec a day? Im inpressed! I hope one day i will get some time off too ha ha ha... its been a busy summer... Lonnie
  12. Heres the Panerai Tourbillon in action
  13. LOL that sounds funny... yes yes he is the lume master and more! If you search, you will find him
  14. I think a scratch like that adds character to the watch and make it look more "real" I would leave it as is!!! My Noobmariner looks like it spent a week inside a cement mixer and its my favorite watch i own! Lonnie
  15. Jeesus!! Spray on varnish? YIKES!! ha ha ha Scarey to try that but your dial there looks fantastic!! I'll send you mine and you can spray it for me LOL LOnnie ps- how many watches do you have? haha Do you have a "collection" thread that i havent seen?
  16. Could you post this aging technique for us all to see? I tried soaking my dial in thick coffee for 2 days and it didnt make any difference at all..
  17. ... you know.. if you took a stainless steel Yachty2 case.. black dial and used a new ceramic GMT black bezel and/or insert... you might have something cool.. and well ya fix those crown guards a bit becasue they look too rounded and wimpy.. maybe someone here with some skills can photoshop one up for us.. Lonnie
  18. ...and our friend Marko aka RiverwindMDS i havent heard from... i sent him a couple emails about a watch I got from him and cant seem to get an answer for weeks and weeks... Lonnie
  19. Ok heres the situation.. the stem came loose from the crown on my ETA rolex 16610... i thought no big deal, i will just pop out the stem and screw it back into the crown and reinstall everything. I got the stem out easily and screwed it back into the crown and pushed the stem back in... now the first position out (after you unscrew the crown) changes the date and if you pull it all the way out, it adjusts the hour and minute hands but it feels like something is slipping and not grabbing firmly. Is the stem to long or too short now? i think i might have to unscrew the stem a little from the crown to make it the correct length? The watch worked fine before it came loose and the keyless works appear to be ok... I'm really confused Anyone have any ideas? Lonnie
  20. the watch would look much much better if they took the big "YACHTMASTER II" off the bezel... Im sure the asian movement companies will eventually come up with a running sec@6 for this model but as for the other complications, i seriously doubt it. The gen is a very advanced watch.
  21. now thats a really good idea!!! You can even use a heat gun to mold it around any little contours Lonnie
