  1. Chrgod, grats on your gen. Strap looks choice, Andy.
  2. I dont know Corgi. Have a look around a watch store lately? Don't see much gold in the cases anymore. The blue faced TT is a pretty watch, just not my style. I think he wants it to match his bird...
  3. The SS Submariner is 5K. The two tone is 8K. I say stay away from yellow gold and save 3K at the same time. My father wants a blue TT sub. I just cannot convince him otherwise. 8K on a watch and its gotta be a golden Rolex. I can't get the guy to give Omega, Breitling, or anything else the time of day. What can I do.. the guy wiped my bum and taught me to ride a bike afterall. I gotta love him, even if he does wear the gaudy "incan temple warship watch". Let me tell you how happy my hardworking father is going to be when he drops 8K on a watch and I make fun of it. The moral of this story is get what makes you happy. 90% of the population couldn't care less about your watch. And chances are you may not even impress the ones that do.
  4. Thats the [censored] enjoy! hmm.. RWG doesnt like that expression I guess. Enjoy none the less!
  5. The Panerai got some wrist time today.
  6. movement suppliers have genuine watch companies in order to buy ETA movements in bulk. I assume it is impossible to order batches of movements from ETA at wholesale or whatnot, unless you are a manufacturer.
  7. Is this necessarily a bad thing to you all, or untrue?
  8. well illustrated point haha. And your right, I forgot about your leg humpage. BTW I did see/reply to that SC post you mentioned to me in another thread. Hi Clive. Hath the queen knighted thee yet? She is overdue for retirement.
  9. TJ I can't be the only one that got a genuine ETA movement in my Swiss's.
  10. 34 people found this post useless as far as I can tell. I'm like the vagrant in the alley outside the subway station everyone avoids eye contact with. Thanks for throwing me some change Delta.
  11. Tell us. Aside from Josh, Andrew, (and King?) who will: -offer secure online purchasing -allow me to browse their up-to-date website with prices and multiple high-quality pictures with descriptions -ship the watch after I buy it. Not a month later -reply when somethings wrong -send me free parts to fix problems/broken bands -Reply to my Emails in an acceptable amount of time (a few hours max), in English, with legible sentences. -charge the same/less -ship the same (or better) quality pieces as we are receiving now. No 3rd rate garbage.
  12. Pug i'm going to make a thread that would explain my post. Check it out- http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=46258 Those darn cartel dealers and their foolhearted schemes to take over the world. Blast! I'm sure somewhere along the way, people have got Asian movements instead of ETA. I've had my watchsmith inspect my ETA sub from josh and it authenticated as such. I'd advise to always err on the side of caution. Inspect what you get (or have it inspected by a watchsmith). Talk with your collector.
  13. I had an interesting email conversation with Josh recently. I thought it was interesting enough to share. He has always been a gracious collector through all of our dealings. some of the questions I asked are to follow... There is obviously a difference between the asian and swiss movements, but what exactly am I getting when I shop swiss movements? Is this a replica of a swiss movement? Is it swiss ETA parts assembled under any quality control in Asia? Tell me what I am getting with the swiss version over the asian. Is my classic ETA sub (which has a nickel ETA inside the case) really a genuine ETA movement? Here is a reply from Joshua regarding movements::: On the subject of movt.. Swiss movt is indeed swiss.. The rotor decoration if any is definitely made in china.. Movt comes from movt traders .. who actually registered watch brands companies in China and Hong Kong.. Thus they have the ability to buy the movt on a annual schedule from Swiss Eta.. Product is definitely bought from Swiss Eta.. But where Eta and how Eta makes these movt.. This I do not know .. If the movt s simply plated.. Like nickle plating .. The movt comes direct ... If it is being machine to have decoration , fishcsales.. this is a local add on. Yes.. a trained watch smith can definitely work on these watches.. Spares are definitely avail..
  14. ...leghumped by a bunch of crazies with watch fetishes. God knows what other fetishes they may have.
  15. The movement traders involved in this are certified watch makers, which allows them the ability to order swiss ETA movements in bulk annually. If you purchase swiss ETA from one of the reputable collectors, then that is what you get.
  16. Oh Did you just offer me your sausage TT?
  17. As seen sitting on the desk next to me at work. (177h w/ strapculture)
  18. There is a leather / stainless steel niche too.
  19. Josh does right by me. Here's the thing. I think this is what it really boils down to.. Has the ETA steelfish been $328 for a while? I seem to remember it being $268 the other day. Getting a little expensive don't you think? At the current price, I'm going to buy one maybe two more pieces, not 10-15. If the prices go up again, you guys can have em.
  20. The way they did that crystal/rehaut those years will always seem strange to me. Not to detract from your very awesome franken by any means. Good luck with the completion!
