when I unscrew the crown, im in winding position. pull once, im in date position, pull two clicks, im in time set. I've done this many many times with ETA 2836 etc. Like ByTor, I always do it in time set mode, against most peoples advice, but it never fails. I've only screwed up keyless works when trying to reinstall in winding position.
I'm good with the stem release button pressure, using the correct tip, etc. My main worry was how the chrono buttons attached to the movement. This seems to be cleared up greatly. I was able to (without decasing the movement) get the chrono hand straight again, thus making the watch back to operational status.
Thanks so much for posting, you guys made all the difference. If I choose to attack it later for a more perm. fix, I will. But I may leave well enough alone, this watch has a place in my heart, I need a 7750 specialist to service this.
