  1. Just shake the damn thing its not a newborn child. Whats next? "never abruptly increase the angle of your arm by more than 90 degrees." like a martini... lol. It's probably already broken anyways. Anyone want to bet his next post is "I swirled it like the perfect grey goose martini, and its not doing anything/its gaining 10 minutes per hour, etc.."?
  2. My advice, my two cents.. I highly suggest you get the rep 1st and see how you feel. I was DYING for a SMP, even considering buying gen. Went into the AD many times. I wound up getting the best rep available. ETA, upgraded the pearl, etc.. it was really spot on, but the watch bored me to death! It was the easiest watch to let go of that i've ever owned. Its the only rep i've sold! Timeless, great watch.. that I couldn't care less about after a week of ownership. None of my other watches ever did that to me aside from the yacht-master, which I knew I didn't care for to begin with. I'm glad I didn't go gen. Good luck my friend. I hope your happy whatever you decide.

    .

Nice swap Rob. Great piece. Really enjoyed reading and seeing the job. Thanks for sharing!
  4. Camera phone/work computer work-a-round apologies ahead of time.. I just wanted to show this unlikely combination i'm wearing. Originally just put this on NATO to test the watch for accuracy (mvmt replacement) without scratching the brand new bracelet. I like it! I know the pic sucks but I think it represents the combo enough for you guys to get an idea what it looks like..
  5. lol! In your case its probably not the watch collection. Good post, op!
  6. A few that partially explain my fascination with a good watch: "There is nothing more valuable than time" "Time waits for no man" (and a random one..) "Is the juice worth the squeeze" -Film: The Girl Next Door
  7. Post some of your favorite quotes. No paragraphs. Inspirational, clever, funny, etc.. Statements of impact. Your words or someone elses. "Just take me for a ride" -007 Dr No
  8. Lonely lonely hobby. There's the Swiss collectors.. Theres the exception the the rule, then theres the exception to the exception. That would be us. Once in a while, on that rare occasion, it all works out. And a great conversation is to be had, and possibly; a great friend is made. Look at RWG.
  9. Copied that and sent it to my father. Maybe you can get through to him because I can't. He loves his automatic Seiko from when he was 17, but has yet to service it. *cringe* Always the optimist, he's of the opinion that if he does take it for service, they'll just break it.
  10. True. That and every other scene! Not that i'm hating, I was jealous since I was sober during the viewing. ...Could be half of my problem.
  11. Saw the movie last night after heavy anticipation. I like Daniel Craig for Bond, my complaints don't lie with him, but with the direction and path the movies are taking. You guys really said it all already. The shaky, too close camera ruined the action scenes. There was no sharp whitty comments from bond, just a stone cold (like everyone else) damaged goods action hero-esque attitude. Craig wasn't even interested in describing his favorite drink, pawning the "chore" off on the waitor. Lastly, if the director couldn't make up his mind who the villian was, or whether he was good or bad, how am I supposed to? Why should I care about the plight of the tall beautiful brunette aside from her being a tall beautiful brunette? There is a lot left to be desired, and overall I was disappointed. I wouldn't say the film was too short, as my anticipation to see the film turned to anticipation for it to be over. Yet, for some strange reason I want to see it again. Maybe to see if it was really just that bad.
  12. Turn that small round one to the left a tad. That's really nice looking. More pics?
  13. Nice work on that one. Thanks for the tips.. I feel a little empty having not seen pics of such a piece though.

    Stamps?

Thanks for that Gran. Honestly, we just want to figure out our best bet for appraisal. No one is interested in collecting. Chances are everyone would just fight if someone requested to keep them. Could be a small fortune there. Just to err on the side of caution.. Let me say they are not kept at any address I've ever given out. Theres a cop living on premesis and everyone there is armed to the teeth.

    Stamps?

My grandfather left us a lifetime collection of stamps. He was very involved in the stamp community, and we literally have a closet FULL of stamp albums that we have no idea what to do with. Suggestions?

  21. Wow, J. I can relate. So similar, except I haven't had the upswing yet. making half of what I used to make last year, working in insurance now to make ends meet. turned 30 in october, started taking classes, things were looking up. Then my girlfriend left me a week before my birthday, lost my place, my dog, (my girl).. etc. moved in with my father and he was almost immediately at my throat for just about anything. Two nights ago I had enough, basically slept in my car and woke up in the morning to drive to stay with my mother until I find another place. My car breaks down on the way over there. (and its an '04 Nissan with 65K miles. its not a piece). I'm broke, trying to save up to move out, im selling my gen.. Just sold my newest rep on here yesterday, and honestly I couldn't care less compared to the scope of everything else those aren't even real problems. I cant afford to take classes anymore, so I didnt register for this semester, and im sleeping on a blow up matress at my moms, waking up with the sun, in my eyes. But I have to smile. Ive lived negatively for so many years (most of my 20's) that no matter what I won't do it in my 30's. Even if my life is destined to be miserable and always one step forward two steps back.. I'll grin and bare it.
