Second opinions on this ladies Breitling needed
P4GTR replied to P4GTR's topic in The Breitling Area
Ok Vic, you help then. her favorite watch of mine is my pam. Now that the tag and breitlings are dead ends, we are looking at 40mm pam's. So, now im taking suggestions on 40mm pams. I will only deal with Josh, please. Suggestions are very welcome! -
Second opinions on this ladies Breitling needed

I did edit that. She would consider a rolex but we would like to be careful and select something that melds well with our lifestyles. Cant wear a ferarri on your wrist and drive a chevy, you know? -

Good point. She appreciates that I appreciate them, thats as far as it go's. She originally wanted a 40mm pam with a see through back though, but there are none. Quartz is fine. -
Second opinions on this ladies Breitling needed

yah, I'll have to agree. The breitling is out the window. I've looked for the ladies tag rep by-tor reviewed, but cannot find it. Narikaa has a few but the stems have changed, they stick out too far. Narikaa states they are now screw down crowns (i'd rather they just looked accurate) also the numerals on the bezel touch together. These aspects look much cleaner on by-tor's version. Just when I think i'm close to finding something to finally buy her, I wind up back at the drawing board. -
I would like to pick this up for the girlfriends birthday. http://www.pc-80108.com/bl01001-ladies-win...tic-p-1801.html will this movement be serviceable locally when needed? Anyone have any experience with this? ETA movement swap possible? pro's, con's, any comments welcome and appreciated. Just not enough info for me to be totally comfortable. I prefer ETA in my reps. I want something solid for her first rep, and she really likes this (as do I).

I guess if my Pam actually glowed at night.. and the crown and lever was remotely close to the thickness of the gen.. well, then.. I would probably move onto b!tching about the A's. It's what we do. Each of us have our own tolerance levels in regards to rep vs gen scrutiny. These comparisons are a huge portion of what we talk about on this board day to day. I don't think anyone should be singled out as playing "Robinson" any more than the next guy. Unless you're dipping your rep dials in black paint to cover up the brand markings, every single one of us are guilty of it to some degree.

What risk? It's a genuine Breitling! Isn't the premium price paid for these watches good for anything or is it all about image? Is it the cost of servicing? Aren't gaskets replaced during a movement service anyways? When I think of Breitling, TAG, Rolex, etc.. I think of .00001 tolerances, strength, reliability.. Timepieces that were built and marketed to weather whatever storm you throw at it (within reason of course). I can understand protecting gens from scratches and the like, but water? Could easily be that i'm too "wet behind the ears" in this hobby to fully understand.

no chrono's right? You wear the watch, don't let it wear you. Don't worry about the impression so much. Chances are you'll have a few pieces in rotation not so long from now, and will be able to match your watch with your mood or agenda for the day (or night). Subs/rolex are too cliche to be ur first. I wish I could do it over again. Although, you must have at least one. U could make this real easy and get a Breitling Steelfish superocean, swiss ETA. Ready to roll out of the box. Amazing watch that always fits the bill. Your first watch will influence your second and so on. It's all a matter of personal preference. Don't forget you can always try some on for size at n AD. Browsing will definately be helpful, and fun.

What would a dying billionaire pay for another 24 hours of perfect health? Everything. What is more important than time? Nothing. As I watch my time pass me by, I prefer to do it with dignity and class. An automatic watch is the slow beating wakizashi of the present age blue-collar samurai.

Me too, very class. Thanks for sharing the trip with us!

Review of Rolex Yacht-Master Rolesium "Noob factory" version
P4GTR replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
That would be really unfortunate. Excellent review and pics. If the super reps were as good as your super-reviews BT, I imagine a lot of swiss "shirts" would become more and more shaken by the day. -
Ah, the anticipation's rising. Think about how it's going to feel, when it finally comes. Yes yes, that oh so sweet arrival thats killing you right now just thinking about it. Fighting all the tape. Pouring it out of the box into your hand, your mind immediately registering the weight, it feels so good. Anxiously scrambling away the wrapping, knowing in just moments it will be yours. Then it happens. The first touch, which with the most natural evolution, turns into a scrupulous once over. You unconsciously murmur under your breath "amazing". Here's to a safe arrival.

I hate shaving against the grain on my face, my hair is so thick the razor wants to dig down or catch. No idea what to tell you TJ. Its funny because I've been pondering something similar. How to mastermind the shave on, well.. the family jewels.

Guilty as charged. I'm sure Quincy's Hublot is the real deal.

This page is unreal. You can play with the search options on top. If this is a repost, my apologies, please delete. The actual "Tomorrow never dies" Seamaster, used in filming? Sold! $82,600. The "Casino Royale"? $70,800... The list go's on and on. "Unique and Most Complicated Wristwatch in the World." G

C'mon. That'll buff right out.
