  1. Actually v4 has come and gone.

lol we are now on version " oh lets call it 4 - sounds good "

Agree Kruzer, who knows what edition / fix this is and hey if they all came out as 1:1 what a boring world we would have, no drilling, flatening, polishing, luming, AR'ing etc

awwww come on CN - don't take away our fun. - fix the bezel but spell it as Polex :D

  2. let you give me my take on this.

It's a dangerous thing to do and heres why.

These watches to the general eye and less informed could be the real thing and even with gen rollies owners giving it praise concerns me.

A few years back on original RWG we had a board member who at the time owned a slight modded sub, yes it looked pretty good and he was told this, it had faults yeah but overall you get the picture.

Well he actually put the watch on the bay, on purpose tried to pass it as gen, sold it for a few thousand $$ and thought lucky me.

However and to an what this forum is partly about is that the watch was called out by a fellow board member on the bay and the winning bidder invited to come and look for himself on the RWG forum thread. It was at that point it came to light that is was the member here who sold it ( and had subsequently spent the money.... so could not initially pay him back) so you can imagine the fallout and the 'what happened next'......

Tempting isn't it - buy one of the 'ultimates' for a few hundred $$ then pass it off as gen for a few thousand $$, if you've got a lot of people saying how good it is, then the feeling of taking a bite out of that red apple gets even more tempting.

It's not going to be the first or last.

In this case you know what you did was wrong, all good, as Lani says, move on from that and start to get involved into what this forum is about, but any unscruplulous people reading threads like this just gives em the green light.

They keep sellin' em' and we'll keep calling em'

    anyway, my thoughts.

    Peace

    :D

  3. Many years ago whilst working for an AD, the managers shop rule was that anyone came in flouting a rep, we had the copyright and makers respected rights to basically take the hammer to the watch and turn it into little pieces.

The question to arise from a lot of this ( and the makers know this ) is that the rep market feeds the gen market ok only by an additional percentage but even so it's still a form of aquiring business. How many people over the years for example have bought rep rolex products, enjoyed it so much that when finances allowed the bought the gen - without the rep they would never have been a customer. And hey the other thing to think about is all the free advertising, nothing better than the customer wanting you.....

Watchmakers concerns have been around for years, Rolex & Co. have been chasing people since before I was born and pretty much they know that for every CN factory they get closed, 2 or 3 will spring up, this is a gun business, the rewards far far outweigh the risks, there are some very rich controllers in CN the business and the question to ask ( and in todays environment ) is how much more further $$ should be pumped into factory chasing ? - For us it should be as simple as this, no matter what we decide to call the watches we purchase, basically ALL we ever buy is a Chinese made, built, designed, cut product built in illegal factories and put together by people working long hours on small pay.

However even through my eyes over the last few years, the quality of the out of the box products by the CN has jumped enormous, the fit, finish, is a thousand times better than even 2/3 years ago, are the watchmakers scared - hell if it was billywhiz swiss watch co. your damn right

To say i bought a rolex from Josh is like saying I got a coke bottle from the real Santa - It ain't gonna happen. You'll have a cheap, flawed, Chinese watch with references to a named product yes.

They are fully aware of who we are, what we are as the information from RWG is too easy to obtain, but we are small fry in the big picture which is why we are allowed to so blissfully carry on as trust me, if otherwise we would be outta here and not even a please or thank you.

    Peace

  5. Am a Supp at mo but you guys bring me to tears so for the share of love and the fact I've been on these boards since ooo back in the day ( Think I even took part in the 'welcome to the board Jetmid' thread ) & no BRJ you can't have my rollie case to mod ha > + to help with all the bloody hard work that goes on behind the scenes here to keep us with our daily fix of RWG I want to put my hand a bit deeper in the pockect and give something back.

But can't see where to do it ? clicked on the lill upgrade button in top right hand side > ahem for those that are not supporters yet, that's where you'll find it < and entered details in again but all I see are details that yes i'm a supp, where does one press the magical mystery button that allows the change of colour in the lill box ?

I've sent TT a pm but no reply :(

c'mon, honest RWG, I loves ya really - group hug... ?

  6. Yay - Now a new name for our watches.

    i.e the UUPO. :p

On a serious note, this is good info, opens more doors, Damn those Chinese are geeting good -

Sorry to bust the rep & factory bubble - but never in 1 million years will there ever be a 1:1 out of the box even if the gen was on the same work table and there were 20 people working on it !!! - there will ALWAYS be some detail that gets modified to be incorrect. - ........ Just wait for V.2 baby.

    Peace

  7. The rule to apply in ALL cases is unless you yourself put in an ETA from a known source i.e you know as Gen, then you rep ain't gonna have it.

Illegal industry, with false advertising lol, 100's - 1000's of people are buying a rep watch with supposed Swiss ETA's, cos thats the sellers brag - and hey if it lasts two years on that mvt then we are all happy. If someone wants to pay an extra $100 for 'Swiss' then all good, dealer can buy a more expensive suit & put premuim in his sports car so all good.

    A line I poach from Josh - " No-one force you to buy a knock-off watch from the internet " < Ladies & gents, it's a simple as that.

Only way to buy Swiss secure is buy gen.

    Peace
