I wonder, exactly how interchangeable is the y3135 with gen parts? I'd assume swapping out even a few parts, such as the escapement, main spring, balance wheel, etc for gen parts could turn a fairly reliable clone into a very impressive clone. With servicing of course.

Just wondering, what finishing techniques are being employed on the average sub rep? And, if any horologists or jewellers are reading, would it be possible to improve the quality of finish by using a hand buffer with jeweler's rouge? I'm mainly thinking of the case finishing, not the "real" finish work done to the movement parts.

I've heard rumors the WM9 case has been "resurrected" in one factory or another by a machinist using George's molds and cases as a guide. Or maybe George recovered from his untimely demise lol
