  1. My wrist is far too small for a UPO. That's why I ordered the 42mm. I'm wondering if I could get away with a 44mm Pam though.
  2. It arrived! Without any indication from USPS that the situation was resolved, it magically appeared at my door today (Sunday of all days). It was a very unexpected surprise. I managed to take one picture that turned out decent. How do you guys get such good close up pictures? What setting should I use on my digital camera? It's just a point and shoot Sony.
  3. Thanks! I'll try to be patient, I'm sure you know how it can be when you're waiting for a new watch to arrive.
  4. I hope that jab was meant in good fun, as I consider myself a very well educated person. Resonses on tracking websites are canned responses. I was simply wondering if this was known to indicate anything more particular. For example, I am am inquiring if it was common knowledge on the board that this canned response from USPS typically results in the package never being found etc. In particular, having worked with the US government in the past, I know that these kinds of assurances are often empty.
  5. UPDATE AGAIN: From USPS website "Your item was misrouted. The error has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later." Does this mean customs snagged it? Or just that they lost the package. Wonder what the odds are of ever receiving it now.
  6. I received my Omega SMP from Andrew just 3 days ago. It has already died. The movement is not running at all. I can adjust the date as well as minutes and hours, but when I try to wind it manually, it feels awful, with strange, uneven resistance. It will not start ticking again. I'm very disappointed. This was supposed to be a Swiss ETA movement. Any insight on what I should do now? Andrew said that he is going to get me the address of his watchsmith to send it to.
  7. UPDATE: I am yet to receive my Planet Ocean. The EMS and USPS websites both state that the watch left China on the 21st. Nothing has been posted since. Here is why I am concerned: After ordering the PO, I decided that I just had to have an SMP as well. I ordered the SMP from Andrew. "Foreign Acceptance" on the SMP = 23rd, received the 27th "Foreign Acceptance" on the PO = 21st, yet to be received. What do you guys think has happened, lost in the mail? Customs?
  8. Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Panerai Luminor Marina (any really) Rolex Submariner LV Breitling Navitimer Actually, this is really just a list of the four watches I have currently. i think this combo of four provides the right watch for any occasion.
  9. I just ordered my first Omega. I ordered an Omega Planet Ocean 42mm with black leather strap. I decided to save a bundle of cash and not go for the 4th gen. It is VERY likely that if I like the PO and the size seems right (i.e. not too big) I could opt for a UPO later (I am after all, officially addicted to reps) When I bought my first rep this summer (a Breitling Navitimer) you guys said it would not be my last. You were absolutely right. I now have the Breitling Navitimer, Panerai Luminor Automatic 40mm and a Rolex Submariner LV. I can't wait to add the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean to the collection!! How long does it usually take for Andrew's stuff to arrive? I've never ordered through him before.
  10. I just got my first Panerai, a PAM 048 from Joshua. I absolutely love it. Pams are beautiful! It has become my favorite rep ( I have also have a Sub LV and a Navitimer). I can easily see why you guys love pams so much. Unfortunately, while the 40mm is a great fit, I doubt I could wear any of the larger pams.
  11. Thanks for the info. Where can I have it done?
  12. Well, I looked and looked but I'll look some more when I get it back from being re-sized. I didn't see anything inside the case at all. So the only other solution is to have it re-lumed, hence my original query in this thread. How and where do I get it re-lumed and how much does it usually cost?
  13. I checked the case pretty thoroughly, didn' see it in there.
  14. The indice is there, only unlike all other indices which have white-ish lum on them, 9 o'clock is just a silver indice with no white lum stuff on it.
  15. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=64449 I've contacted the seller and he said he'll refund me the $ upon return. Other than the lum, the watch looks great. I thought I'd just refund the $ for the lum job. What do you guys think? How difficult is a lum job? How $?
  16. I just bought a watch off the trade section here ("noobmariner" lv). The seller claimed that there were no flaws with the watch and even had a picture showing lum on all the markers. The watched arrived today, NO LUM at 9 o'clock. Well, first question, where can I get lum put on this thing 2nd question. Is this at all normal? Is a watch considered "not flawed" when it has no lum at 9 o'clock?
  17. Thanks guys. The pictures all looked the same and I suspected they were all from the same source, but thought I'd check with you first and make sure I was right. Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered from Josh. I've ordered from him before so I suppose I'm just staying in my comfort zone.
  18. I am very interested in getting a pam 048 (I have small wrists). I have experience with Josh when I got my Breitling Navitimer. I thought I'd go through him again this time. I searched and was unable to find an indication as to which dealer would have the best Pam 048. Could anyone make a recommendation? Thanks in advance!
  19. just found this thread. Is it too late for me to get in on this group buy? I'd like an LV.
  20. Great watch, great pictures. I love mine. I am really wanting to get a strap like yours. Where do you recommend looking for one? How much can i expect to pay?
  21. Is the 42mm going to be too big for my wrist? I have a 6.25" wrist. I really love the look of it, but I'm worried that it would be just too big. Let me know what you guys think.
  22. thanks for the info. It looks great. I do see what you were saying about the date sitting a bit high. Should I be concerned about the stripped screw issue that you have on the bracelet?
  23. Thanks, but the recommendations you gave have me chasing my tail so to speak. By-tor's review makes no recommendation as to which collectors or websites have the best rep. In fact, his review says to refer to the Omega section. Which brings us to where I am now. I used the search function and found this thread. It seems quite relevant to my current query. Which website/collector would you recommend? If you were to purchase a Seamaster Pro this week, where would you purchase it from? I really appreciate all the knowledge and reviews that you have all put together. This forum has been very helpful.
  24. I would really like the SMP to be my next rep. I have been looking around on the forum here and at different vendor sites to try and find the best available one. I could really use some guidance here. What is going to be my best bet for a good SMP? I'm most interested in quality look, feel and accuracy to the gen.
  25. That band looks great with the navitimer. Who is selling it? Link?
