  1. I normally don't post to the wrist check since I wear the same Tag Link GMT every day (young hip casual look) However, today is my birthday, so I upped the ante a bit and wore my favorite rep today, Seamaster Pro GMT
  2. Geez Vic you're making me cry over here. Seriously. Be understanding of the sensitive young men in the house. Great story though.
  3. If this counts as a niche I'd say my niche is GMT watches. I only have 3 reps so far (I'm new) but they're all GMTs, and I have no desire to purchase a rep that isn't a GMT. I've read all about how bad these hacked up modified for GMT movements are but so far I haven't had any problems.
  4. Thanks Corgi! It definitely has a unique look. I wore it to a wedding recently and caught a few people staring at it in the corner of their eye, but no one said anything. Maybe they thought it was ugly? I love it though. And yes, I purchased it from Joshua.
  5. I'd love to see some pics of yours if you have taken some!
  6. Best wishes to Ken and his family.
  7. Hi vric. The dealer offered to send me a new one and keep this one for parts. A case opener I ordered arrived today so I am going to open the case and maybe experiment and try to figure out what is wrong. If I am able to fix the problem and put it back together in one piece, I'll put up a little guide. No promises though, I'm not sure if disassembling a movement is up my alley.
  8. Well after hearing the reply on here I pretty much decided that I wasn't going to be able to fix it and I contacted the dealer since it was new. He offered me a free replacement and to keep this one for parts so I accepted. Good thing I didn't try to fix it myself!
  9. I debated mentioning that in the first post but I thought it would be fun to see a few reactions first... bad decision on my part I guess. Oh well, no need to be on the lookout and get out of the way if TheDukeZip is on your tail, it's all good. If anyone else has the same car and you want to know how to do this... 1) put your key in but don't turn 2) push and hold trip/reset 3) turn lights on 4) turn ignition to on (the notch before start engine) 5) quickly turn lights off, on, then off again (you have 5 seconds to do this) 6) release trip/reset, then push and release it 3 more times quickly (you have 5 more seconds to do this) now you're in diagnostic mode. every time you press trip/reset the guages do a sweep and all the lights blink. Take lots of crazy pictures! to exit diagnostic mode, just shut the ignition off
  10. Thank you for everyone who read this and give it a few seconds of thought. The dealer has proposed an acceptable solution. I deleted the video of the watch.
  11. I heard the hairdryer trick is better, do a search for hairdryer. it's the last few pages of a thread somewhere.
  12. Corgi... did you ever resolve this issue? I am having an identical issue with one of my watches and have been reading up on movements, contemplating attempting to service it myself (not worth sending it out for a $100 watch, no?) I had posted my problem along with a video in the Watch Repairs area but on a search today I stumbled upon your nice post here
  13. Yes! Keep it slow! Obviously there is something up with the photo before too many people scold me for almost killing people The car was parked and it has a diagnostic mode where you can make the dials sweep up and down and all the lights blink. If you time the photo right, the lights aren't blinking and it looks almost real. I would never get the engine that hot!!!
  14. 20 minutes until the meeting and 50 miles to go... 150 ought to do it...
