  1. I do not understand why you would even post this before you discussed it with King. Good lord - just ask king first.

I think you should read what I have written in the 1st place before shooting your mouth off. I am merely asking for an opinion among more experienced members of the forum. I even commended King on the watch and service!

For your opinion I did e-mailed her before posting this issue. She feels that it is the forwarders fault and after considering what has been said in this forum, I have decided to let it be.

    TQ

  2. Thanks for the input guys. I have not decided if I should take pictures and discuss it with her, if it was the watch itself that's defective then certainly I will bring the matter up with her. However, I am aware that there is no warranty or guarantee involved here but she is one of the forum's trusted dealer and as such there should be some degree of good faith involved in buying and selling the reps or accessories.

  3. I ordered the Lady Chanel J12 with swiss quartz including the box set from King. I received it yesterday, the watch is lovely and my wife loves it. Unfortunately the box was damaged upon receiving it. The hinge (I think that's what they called it) that holds the lower and upper part of the box as it is opened is non functional. It now opens 180 degrees, it is held together only by synthetic leather materials only. I am new so I am not sure if the dealer is supposed to replace it or I have to accept it as it is????

The package came in it's original FedEx envelope and seal (was not opened and resealed), customs did not open it. The box was in another paper box and wrapped in plastic and plastered. E-mailed King and she blames it on the forwarders but the fact that it is in the original packing suggests it was defective from the source, doesn't it?

The transaction to buy the watch was excellent and the shipping was quick, unfortunately the damaged box took some of the pleasure away.

    Your input is appreciated <_<:bicycle:

  4. Hi, just got back from dinner.

    Part 2.

I forgot to mention that in Lo Wu Commercial Centre, the watches that sits on the display window looks like branded watches but their names are either different or been scratched off. This is more or less the same as the reps in Mongkok (Hong Kong). They will show you a catalog of watches and once you have selected the watches, a runner will bring it to you within 5 minutes. You could then check the watches and if not happy, the runner would get another for you....ie another 5 minutes wait. Anyway, the quality is no where near the quality you would get with any of the dealers in RWG. A couple of years ago in Mongkok (HK), they would bring you to some place nearby on the 1st or 2nd floor of a shop to look at watches. Back then they have swiss ETA reps of common brands like Rolex, Omega and the likes but a few nights ago there was none that I could see, when I visited the Mongkok night market. They only have low grade reps, a SS Daytona at HK$280 after discount.

One thing I had forgotten to mention earlier, at Lo Wu they have rep silver jeweleries like Tiffany at an amazingly low prices. My wife bought about 8 bracelets at HK$75 each.

Anyway, when any of you guys visits HK make sure you spend a day or two in Shenzhen. The hotel rates are much cheaper than in Hong Kong, Spa sessions are bloody cheap, world class golf courses, beautiful women and much much cheaper to shop for anything you may desire. In fact unless you are damn loaded and only shops for original branded stuff (30% more expensive in Shenzhen compared to HK), do all your shopping in Shenzhen.

  5. I am in Hong Kong for a 2 week family holiday! I went to Shenzhen by train from Tsim Sha Tsui East KCR (train station) last wednesday, it took about 40 minutes to reach Lo Wu and another 40 minutes to clear all the check points.

I went straight to the Lo Wu Commercial Center just outside the immigration check point and spent the entire day from 11am till 8pm. Manage to have a lovely Dim Sum meal at Laurel Restaurant on the 5th floor for lunch. There are fakes of almost everything here, hundreds of stores selling replicas. I started on the 5th floor and work myself downwards...after a while it's the same kind of stuff in every floor. The 5th floor is slightly different as the restaurants are mainly found here and a large area is aportioned for clothes and you could get any kind of suits/dresses made by the tailors there at dirt cheap prices and it can be ready within hours for the simpler ones to about 3 days.

All branded bags/wallets/purse under the sun are available in abundance here. If you have the time to haggle with prices, you'll get it between 1/3 up to 1/2 the original asking price! U could get an LV/coach/Fendi/Gucci purse for HK$60! (my wife bought 10 of these). the bigger hand bags would cost about HK$100 to 200 per piece after substantial discounts. The quality in my opinion is quite good and the small details are accurate (better than the ones found in Mongkok night market or elsewhere in bangkok or Kuala Lumpur for example). There are loads and loads of them, it's unbelievable.

They also have replicas of branded shoes both for men and women. I remember being cramped with 2 aussie gals and 2 sales person in one of the small store room on the 6th floor which was filled with bags/shoes upto the ceiling, fortunately the room was air conditioned. they bought a dozen pairs of Gucci/Prada stillettos and shoes, each pair costing HK$65, this plus dozens of Prada/ LV/ Burberry/ Gucci handbags and they were asking me if they could face problems with the Aussie customs. They also have men shoes and I got myself a pair of soft leather Prada shoes and another pair of Ferragamo loafers, their asking price was HK$280 each pair but I manage to bring it down by 50%. Just think less than US$10 per pair of good quality leather shoes!!! Value for money if you ask me.

Now, the watch reps............it's a big dissapointment! Went to quite a few shops but they only have the low quality cheapo reps. They'll part with 2 asian auto lady datejust and 1 lady Chanel J12 quartz for HK$480. That's HK$160 per watch. Reliability is a big problem as only 1 watch works relatively well now and the other auto datejust died on arrival (seconds hand refuse to move) and the J12 stops intermittently! I showed them my IWC Ingenieur that I just got from the group buy and they don't have any reps of that quality. TOO expensive to sell was teir main reason.

Anyway, I manage to put in a 2 hour heavenly body massage session in a Spa located on the 4th floor of Lo Wu Commercial Centre. HK$88 for 2 hours and I gave a tip of HK$60! I believe the Spa is called Lee Mei Hua or something like that.

Got to stop here as weare going out for dinner.....will continue report later

  6. So much has been said about the best reps for men but what about reps for women? Are the quality of lady reps that bad it's not worth commenting on? Doesn't ladies wear reps? My wife does eventhough she would prefer the originals naturally!

The top 5 lady reps.....Any takers?

  7. silix, EL, river and of course joshua all have the J12, ask them about it.

I think ladies version is quartz (for genuine) so it should work out a little cheaper. Most women don't seem to care about automatics...

Which of these 4 dealers have the best Lady J12 swiss quartz? If they all come from the same factory, which has the best deal? Wanting to get one for my missus.

  8. 47mm watch????

    this is crazy...

i have used my PAM 1950 some time... but no never

if you used smaller watches some days, you will forget your 47mm watch.

i think 44mm is the biggest one... no bigger please.

Any bigger, I'll have to hang it around my neck!!!!!

  9. Finally got to see my Ingy from EL late last night. I was away for a week and despite a minor delay by customs, the watch was picked up by my missus on 8th Nov.

It is beautifully crafted and very solid. It has a nice heavy feel to it and to my untrained eye, I can't see any significant defects (no magnifying glass) and it works. There may be a small dial misalignment problem but not obvious.

Mine comes with a box set and like the others while the watch tool is included there were no papers. The quality of the box and particularly the printed lettering on the inner cover of the box can be better I suppose...it's blurred! I wonder if EL will send the missing papers? Has EL responded to some of you guys about the missing papers?

BTW, my eyes maybe playing tricks on me but looking at the dial, it seems the Ingeniuer lettering appears as if it is slanting downwards slightly compared to the IWC lettering above. It seems like that looking at the pics of the original as well. Any of you guys feel the same way?

Overall, I am pleased with this deal. Thanks to RT and ... EL as well. Hope he sends the papers though! B)

  10. Oh dear, the tracking of my IWC states non delivery 1st attempt ude to "importation restriction" dated 4th Nov!!!???? What does that mean? They will send the watch back? Confiscate? Any idea guys? Thks....am worried.:unsure::unsure::mellow:

Good news, postal customs released the 'package' and my wife picked it up yesterday. Unfortunately, I am away at the moment and will only return home this weekend. Can't wait! :bicycle::bleh::yeah:

  11. Where are you located? Someone in your country may have to decipher your chances here.

But no, I wouldn't like the sound of that either. And what the heck is a "non delivery 1st attempt?" Sounds a bit like a contradiction in terms, doesn't it?

I reside in Malaysia and previous such deliveries have gone through without problems. Watches are tax free here! I don't know who is the EMS Taiwan's agent here.

  12. Hey RT,

First, let me thank you again for all the work you did in arranging this for us.

That being said, I don't think any concerns raised to this point are above and beyond what one should expect if working one on one with a dealer, at full price.....

I also don't feel these concerns have been addressed in a discurtious manner....

Buying reps is a bit of a gamble, but we try and hedge our bets by requesting dealers to look out for known issues before sending our watches. that being said, I can barely see the chip on nguyendd's watch...and its blown up 500%....so this would be a non-issue for me....the off setting of the dial markers would be more upsetting to me though...

All in all, I look forward to receiving this watch, and hopefully all will be well!

I'll second that! Whatever the outcome, RT has done a great job! Both Jay and EL are trusted dealers in RWG and they will sort out genuine grouses or significant defects.

  13. Here's a pic of my new Ingy Thingy. I think it has a great wrist presence. Much better than either the 45mm or 42.5mm PO. Those long lugs paired with a 22mm lug width make it look silly. This thing is incredible. Date font fix and it' is PERFECT. What do you guys think. Garden and sunshine (thanks EL) pics will come tomorrow.

I pray :) mine will be like yours Estaban!

  14. yeah, i agree. I could proboly live with the chip. the chip on yours is not nearly as bad as some others that have been posted.....but the misalligned markers are just plain messed up!

....as I said before, If I was you, i would get a new dial from Eddie and just swap the bad one out....

I'll second that! It should be replaced, it's just HORRIBLE! I am still waiting for mine from EL. Got the tracking number, it was sent 30th October but there is a slight delay with delivery here in Malaysia. I shall pray mine would be OK without defects like that. :o:o:yuk:

  15. Will Jay have the boxset and tool too?

If not, would you please put me on EL's list? Thanks RT!

I like to have the box set and tool as well, so please put me on EL's list. I am a relatively new member but I gather EL's stuff are top grade.

Having said this I am little worried my name has not been mentioned on any list yet, RT am I in or out?

  16. At the China side of the train station, there's a shopping center called Luo Hu Shopping Center. Just stay right after you exit immigration (assuming HK to China direction). Go up any escalators that will take you up a level. You can't miss it. It's like a 8+ story building. It's a counterfeit haven. DVDs, shoes, clothes, bags, and our beloved replicas. There are many many stores that sell replicas. Take your time. They will ask for RMB$1000+ for a ETA sub. You can definitely get it for around RMB$800 (US$100). Ask them to open the back and keep a close eye on the piece you want in case they switch it. Pay only when you're totally sure. The watches mostly come from GuangZhou, the replica capital of the world. It is about 1.5 hour north of ShenZhen by train. There is an astounding watch market at Train Station West in GuangZhou. A member told me it takes more than a day to roam. While in ShenZhen, pay a visit to a sauna. Luo Hu Shopping Center certainly has some good quality saunas. Get a 2, 3-hour massage for around US$30-50 (RMB$200-400), tip US$10-20 (RMB$80-160), the masseuse should be real happy. I personally prefer blind masseurs. They have incredible hands. If daring, try foot reflexology. It's best after a day of walking and looking for your favorite reps. PM me if you want to get kinky.

A note of caution to US travellers: don't bring back any counterfeit hollywood DVD. Each one found costs you US$10,000 at the customs. Some guy got fined $80,000 dollars. Not funny at all. I don't know about Canadian customs.

ShenZhen is an incredible, wild place. The women to men ratio is 7:1. It has some of the best clubs and most gorgeous people I've seen. I'm going back there in November.

Thanks for the detailed info! I have been to Luo Hu Shopping Centre about 5 years ago and there were loads and loads of rep watches but mainly the cheap quality ones. How do you ask for the good quality ones with swiss movement? Their english aren't that good. Can you recommend any particular store(s)?

Someone informed me that the last few years the retailers have become more weary of the authorities and they only show the customers brochures/pics of the watches. They will only show the actual watches you have picked out from the brochure.

BTW How much does Panerais with ETA movement costs in general?
