  1. I think for the most part, the difference between the 2 versions, is the lack of AR on the the cheaper lite version. Some have PVD bezel instead of ceramic. From what I see, the lite versions are usually not offered on the really popular models though.

Some of the best deals with HBB's IMO.

  2. The Santos 100 Chrono is one of my favorite watches. The dial is not silver, Its more of a cream color, but definitely has a silvery sheen to it. Spot on to the GEN. The strap itself is very good. (unlike the POS rubbery strap that comes on the non-chrono version)

I haven't decided if I am going to add a GEN gator strap to it or not. About $300-400 at the AD. HKTan also makes a good replacement for about 1/2 that.

The 7753 is the way to go with this one, The sunken DW was a deal breaker for me. The watch is so beautiful and accurate, its a shame to let a little thing like that ruin the watch. Big step up in price, though.

This one is a real keeper for me. I get the most compliments on this watch over any of my others.

@dave: Where did you order your strap? Most of the ADs i have been into, don't stock these and want you to give them a serial # to place an order.

  3. IMO, Best out of the box with minimal or no mods needed:

    Rolex GMTIIc

    HBB or BB King

    Breitling SA or Skyland Avenger

    Graham Chronofighter

    Panerai Ferrari 008

Ingy is nice and with the right mods (ie Lello DW, AR, and bracelet weld fix) is damn near perfect. I almost bought the GEN last week, but decided against it because the rep is close. The same can be said for the 3717 with a little work (AR, ETA DW, and hour marker fix)

The BP is nice but with unfixable problems, such as sunken DW and non-working PR. The other version with the working PR is much less accurate

  4. Welcome to RWG. This is without a doubt the best place to find the good stuff.

With that said, you have to realize that with any forum, you have to be willing to do a little of the leg-work yourself. Spend some time researching the model you want as there are several grades as well as prices. There is tons of information found here on HBB's and if you spend a little time reading, you'll find the answers to the questions you are asking

ALL replicas have flaws and none are perfect, so the best model is the one you are happy with, that contains flaws you can live with and the price you are willling to pay.

    Good luck.

  5. The 6.75 was the first "real" rep that I bought. Really nice watch IMO, but I think it gets some bad press because it gets lumped in with the other Bentley models, which are not as accurate.

Other than the lack of good AR and the "off" color of the DW, its a damn accurate rep. I don't see the same problems with the chapter ring (ie white area too wide) as with the others.

  6. Yes THAT would be impressive. Imagine the applications, mainly the porn. :D

Imagine the poor computer geeks that would have their hearts ripped out by computer generated online dates...................

I'm still waiting for the robotic woman. Once you can program what you want your wife to do and say, we will have a perfect world.

Hmm... good plot for a movie.

  7. I've settled on the watch.

Its the new 2008 Zenith Chronomaster Open Grande Date.

Retail price is beyond the $5K mark....but I'm getting a sick deal on it plus a bit of cash from me.

    Some changes from previous years.

-hands are beveled, polished on one side, satin on the other for better definition

-power reserve has been skeletized as well as the date area

Let me know what you think....

thank you everyone for all the suggestions!!!!

That is a GREAT looking watch. I'm with you all the way on that one.
