Hello IWC experts. Im about to purchase the IWC 3717 Pilot Chrono. I dont know where to send it for modding.
Hope you can help.
Thanks
-
how much would this replacement cost?
Count me in!
Thanks
-
Does it need a datewheel replacement??
-
For my first ever rep, I am now leaning towards the SFSO white dial. I have done my research and I think that the SFSO is the winner on this one. If there will be a more accurate version of the BCE, I would go for it as well.
Thanks guys!

Final Judgement between the SFSO and the BCE ULTIMATE?
-
ETA-2836 will be cheaper than the previous 2824? Does this mean that the 2824 is better than the new 2836?
Cheaper. -
One of the dealers told me that there will be a new version of the SFSO that is going to come out in November, dial, case and crystal are the same, just the movement will be changed to ETA-2836 or CN-2836.
What will be the difference from the ETA 2824 to the new ETA2836??

Thanks for your suggestions. I am now leaning towards the 3717 Pilot Chrono. However, I have some concerns:
1. What movement is the best for this rep?
2. Where can I have this rep completely modded?
And of course, how much will it cost me for all of the above mods?
Thanks guys!
I agree with Pugwash. Owning all of the above mentioned IWCs, the closest to gen (in my humble opinion) and the best mod platform is the 3717 Pilot Chrono. With datewheels, lum and double (some say, triple) AR, I would classify it as indistinguishable from gen (except by an IWC WM)

From weeks I have been searching from HBBs and I have encountered plenty from Joshua. Where can I get those quality HBBs you have?
Thanks a lot.

Excuse me for this question. What is the difference of standard PAMs with Jimmyzfu parts?
Thanks again...
-
I guess it all comes down to the BCE and the SFSO....
-
Thank you so much guys for all the information you sent. Based on what I have read in this forum, these are the most accurate PAMs today:
1. 111 E
2. 111 H
3. 127 "fiddy"
Correct me if Im wrong. But I am leaning on purchasing any of those models. I hope you can help me decide as well.
-
Im really getting confused...
I would love to here the answer to this one as well. When I first got here over a year ago a was not a fan of the PAMs at all. Know I really like the looks of them... but the sheer number of models is overwhelming.... any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! -
Oh...really getting confused here. hehe
As you might of ascertained, IWC reps in general are mostly GREAT reps.It is really your taste in watches that should help make the decision.
Additionally, the type of movement in the various reps is also important. The eta movement in the IGGY is pretty damnded reliable, while the 7750 in the Cousteau and in the 3717 can be more problematic (or not).
Swapping the asian 7750 for a 'swiss' can help but is more expensive and involves watchsmithing.
On the other hand...the 3717 is without a doubt the 'best' unmodded chrono available IMHO.

Im really getting confused. Hehe.
Beautiful watch, I am really tempted to buy one of these. Both the BCE and the SFSO are just amazing, If I was giving advice though, I would say Eta steelfish just gets the nod, reliable accurate and good resale value.
I only have the Asian steelfish and even that is a fantastic piece for the cash.
If you are not sure, that may be the halfway house, if you like it punt it on and buy the ETA.
The lack of AR does not really bother me but the slightly stuttery second hand has me eyeing the Swiss version.
You really can't go wrong with any of these though, we are spoiled.
-
dluddy, how much does it cost to have a lume job?
Im from Asia.
Hands down - ETA Steelfish. Only mod it needs is a Lume job. -
Thanks for the information. The font on the YACHT MASTER (is the gen supposed to be in bold? And so is the date?
I have a ROLY rep from Andrew, very close to Gen except for crown guards and bezel. I'm modding the crown guards to match a gen and waiting for another bezel from Andrew.Except for a couple of minor things it's a very close REP to a Gen. I should know as I checked mine with a Gen a few weeks back when I was in London
I have some close up pics of a gen for reference so I should be able to mod it as close as possible.
-
dluddy, thats a nice piece you have there. How much is your total on that one?
What Pugwash said but I will add the basic Ingenieur - with mods like Double AR and Lello datewheel it'sHere is mine with the Double AR done but not the datewheel. - still at The Zigmeister's having that done
-
Thanks Pugwash. I was leaning towards that coz many of you guys in this forum say the same thing.
No mods needed in this watch?
No contest: ETA-powered SFSO. -
Thanks for the info Pugwash. I think that with mods is better. Am I correct?
What mods are needed in the 3717?
Sorry as I am new to purchasing replica watches...
With mods or without?I'd say get a 3717 as it's a damned good watch as well as being a good replica.
3717 without mods:
3717 with gen ETA datewheels:
GST ti with gen dial:

Hope you can help me as to what kind/type of HBB will be my first purchase.

Hi guys. I'm patiently waiting for my first rep (SFSO) and I want to get rid of the SS bracelet and replace it with a leather or rubber.
Please help me find the best strap that will best complement the white dial.
Thanks!
