  1. To me 15 seconds is unacceptable. I let ALL my watches being regulated by my watch smith AFTER I wore them for some weeks. After some weeks the watch is 'run in'. And also the deviation in seconds / day will differ per person depending on how they move their arm and wrist. So there fore If I say the watch runs xx seconds per day minus or plus, my watch smith can get it quite right. I am doing this because I know these movements can. And why accept less when you know it can be done with a little effort. Cheers!
  2. Wow, stunning piece! what Gunny strap was that? did not see anything like that on Peters website. Congrats, really nice one! I am still waiting for a pam249 with blue hands from Rocket/DSN. have a Gunny strap already waiting for it. Cheers, wear it well!
  3. maybe you can ask your dealer to get you a black dial because of the color change. Or demand another dial when buying a new rep. Installing the hands and dial is not too difficult for any watch smith. just my 2 cents.
  4. you should open the case back to see what is going on. and maybe make some pictures while trying to push the reset button. still think that the running seconds of the other model could be easily repaired. This one can be more difficult and maybe has to be sent back again if you don't find a rep friendly watch smith.
  5. Pin. to adjust the bracelet there are small push buttons on the inside to push the pins out. works easy. system like gen.
  6. 2-3 needles, they mean the hour, minute and second hand. So NO chrono's. and believe what all the guys here said. waist of money. probebly it will just be regulated. In the replica factories they DON"T service movements. because it does not earn enough. Better find someone locally for the 2-3 needle movements.
  7. One big concern before you order.... the yellow minute hand has no lume!! while the hour hand does. So that really looks very odd in the dark. To me a reason not to buy. Unless you let it relume my one of the modders if they can lume this yellow stuff.
  8. Yes, indeed. What I often hear is that the dealer sends it to the importer. And the importer quotes this extremely ridiculous price. And they send it back to Breitling in Switserlands most often and it is done there under guarantee or for a lot lot less than what the quote. hearing those things makes me feel less to buy a gen and buy a perfect rep, just because like that they don't deserve my money.
  9. Guys, this week I received my Mona strap for Breitling. From Gunny straps. Peter makes really really nice straps. Also for Panerai I received this week. This Mona strap is 7mm thick at the lugs and 5mm thick at the ends. Now i am looking for a nice (OEM) Breiting Tang buckle. Some quick dirty pics I shot today: Hoping the links work. First time posting pic links in a post. Cheers! thanks for looking.
  10. Welcome aboard! about the mods, there are at least 3 modders close to you. Vaccum, Watchdog, Rex (Repgeek). mods I would advice: relume. Most high end Breitling reps and IWC reps already have a AR coating (altough that could be better). But the replume just is far away from the genuine article. You will be surprised by the superlume! (i let all my watches being superlumed) Done by Vac & WD. cheers.
  11. I use a rubber ball, bought on ebay. you could find it using the word Panerai. you should get it open asap. after that you could put it under a warm light to get the moist out. and have the waterproofment tested. And don't have it in contact with water before you have it checked....
  12. Good choice with the Gunny strap. Today I received to Gunny straps from Peter as well. Looks quite nice. About mods, for higher accuracy and better reliability, you could let the 6497-2 movement have serviced. Not too expensive also. Only problem is that then you could not wear it for a few weeks.
  13. Hey Vac, hope you will feel better soon. watches is just watches. health is more important. Take it easy! J.
  14. no 25 of this Forum rules: [25] - Do not visit an AD (Authentic Dealer) with your replica watch and show it of as the real thing. If you do so, we are not interested in hearing about it. Such post will be deleted.
  15. I did not know we were having missions to Mars with humans. Probably the price of this watch is too low to be ever repped to a super rep.
  16. haha Alany, you are right on! My father once showed of his rep as a gen to a journalist one day, couple of days later it was in a newspaper about his new 'hobby'. Talking about embarrassing. Same my watch smith once did to a guy on a party who showed off his fake full gold Rolex as a genuine. The poor guy did not know that my friend was a watch smith who worked also on the expensive watches. After too many showing off you can imagine what happened.
  17. for the obvious reason: to see if their rep is good enought to fool an AD. The problem with most people who were reps (not meaning most RWG members) is that they don't know the obvious flaws of a rep. Just because a lack of knowledge. A lot of people go to ADs with a rep. And even how much we try to prevent that here on RWG, it won't change. So the best is 'if you do, we don't want to know, don't write about it because we have totally no interest in it to know'.
  18. A customer from my watch smith once brought a fake Cartier to him. He told him what the problem was. my watch smith could not solve that, so he sent it off to Cartier. the customer 'forgot' to tell that it was a replica. Cartier destroyed the watch. Hahaha
  19. I let most of my watch movement have a service. 7750, 2824, 2836, 6497. All. They run better, more accurate and more reliable.
  20. Have you ever considered letting the A7750 being serviced??? Most problems can be solved during the complete overhaul of the movement. Even if you could get a ETA 7753, most times those new movements are older than 5 years. And therefore need a service as well. So best thing is to service the A7750 if no parts are broken. Several good watch smiths (also locally) could service an A7750. cost will be from around 175usd - 250 usd I estimate. At least you can find a watch smith and let him take a look at the movement to see if it can be repaired by a complete overhaul. quartz won't work. sub dial spacing etc won't match. And why quartz, then it won't look like gen having non smooth seconds and chrono seconds. And if you want to have the perfect XXL, consider a better strap. (original or Aaron Tan / HKTAN). Good luck.
  21. Like Freddy said. I also found the watch smith in the phone book. turns out he also works on original expensive watches and also had serviced many many 7750's. And also several A7750 movements. And the 2824-2 2836-2 6497-2 models are even more easy and a lot more cheaper to have serviced.
  22. Wow mr Samurai!! Does your name refer to your skill of photography as well? very nice post!
  23. Okay then, let me be the first: Watchdog his sausages (dials) are best! Your old name was probably also known outside the rep world. Good that you changed it here then.
  24. From my experience with the blackbird, with 2 i had with both problems with date and also various people on this board, I can surely say that the date is a weak point of the Blackbird. it is easy to fix but needs to have the hands and dial removed. by a watch smith. you could send it back to the dealer, but remember you will have away for around 2 months if needed to send back to china. And not talking about the risk of loosing a parcel in chinese post or customs. if you save the shipping and spend it on a good watch smith locally, thats what i would do first before sending it back to China. just my 2 cents.
  25. how can we comment if you left out which model you want? Are you looking for sausage dial or sandwich? I assume sandwich. that is good for Vac to lume. looks amazing, he did my pam177. the specs you described look pretty good. The Asian swanneck is very good. Once serviced it shouldl be better in terms of accuracy, reliability etc than the swiss. You could ask Vac if he can service the movement. He also has quite nice Asian 6497 movements which are pretty good. (have one myself)
