  1. Does anyone else get annoyed with the SLIGHTLY off-center hour marker lume dots on the face of their SOH? I have discussed in brief a few times, and people have said that there;s really not much that can be done because they are so small, but I have been considering either having The Zigmeister give it a better shot, or asking for a better dial from Josh.

I'm sorry i have no camera. --See my 'i neecd a camera" post in photography......

Here are some links though, and it looks like most are just a little off.

I really wish i could get a gen dial, but i guess nobody has one because this is such a cheap GEN :(

  2. Why?

I ordered mine SOH 46 on the rubber strap from trusty on Nov 13 and received it on Nov 19 to the US. Watch arrived well packed and in perfect shape. I cannot stress how good this watch looks. Being new to the rep game I was very skeptical about how good a replica can be, but I was thrilled when I got this SOH. The AR is good with a nice blue tint, the watch is large but not monstrous. The finish on the steel is perfectly polished and the watch has a heavy solidness that makes it feel like a gen.

I Love my SOH black from Josh. I did a ton of research before I bought it, and I wouldn't even give the omega's a second look. They just aren't good looking watches in my opinion, and the look like they fit terrible. Mine fits great on my wrist, is big and cool, but not gaudy. I love it

  3. I am thinking about one of these; I should say I'm in the looking phase, actually.

How long will one of these last without scratching, though? It would show stainless underneath if it scratched, right? I think that would be a deal breaker for me.

Speaking of PVD, if anyone has an ajoesmith BR 03-92 they are thinking of getting rid of...... I'll take it :):):):)

  4. Ive been doing a ridiculous amount of research on cameras on the internet, and realized one of the main reasons i wanted one was to photograph my watch.

I have no idea what kind of specs are required to take such detailed, up close pics, though.

So Im gonna ask for help picking out a camera.

I'm either gonna go for a cheap point and shoot, or shell out twice as much for one with manual controls and hella zoom. I want one I can play around with some, but know very little about photography at this point still.

    Here are my cohoices:

What i really cant decide is if I will be happy with the cheapest one, or if I really should go for the one thats twice the price. I'm really strapped for cash right now or it would be a quick decision.....

  5. I was just randomly thinking i want a sub with date, but without the cyclops. I guess this is basically a seadweller, but the case would be a little thinner. But....if I put a superdome on a sub, that would probably defeat the purpose of the thinner case. So should I spring for an old seadweller, or maybe try to get a sub with a superdome?

I have no idea the dimensions and specifications of these, for the record, but I did search for a while and came up with nothing.

    Any help?

Also, it would probably be cheaper to just get the seadweller than a sub and change the crystal, huh?

  6. I am surprised there aren't more Graham's on here, and more PAM's for that matter. I am debating between a 40 and a 44 mm PAM at the moment. I am worried that the 44mms won't be likeable very long. Doesn't the crown guard dig into the wrist?....

I have a SOH and for a big watch it's really comfortable, especially with thte curved lugs. I've also read alot of people find it way more comfortable than the PO. It's a little heavy, though, even on my 7 3/8wrist.

  7. My guess is someone has asked this before, but I'm wondering opinions on a guy wearing a smaller PAM.

I am not into the large watches that are so popular right now. I think they look awesome, but I wonder about how long I would like one, and so I am hesitant to pay for a good rep of one.

Granted if I had unlimited cash I would spring for a well modded 500+ 44mm, but as it stands right now, that won't happen any time soon.

I have been considering a smaller version, though, thingking it would be a longer investment.

    Any thoughts?

  8. do a search. we have talked about this alot. a gen strap will set you back hundreds, and a gen buckle the same. you can get used ones on ebay. the single deployants are uncomfortable IMHO. I haven't gotten a double deployant yet, but i plan on it. Breitling only makes the single deployant that I know of. there are links on the board to some sites for good straps and buckles. you can get a replacement leather strap that's not gen breitling but as nice for much cheaper. good luck

  9. I find when i bring it up and talk about it for a minute, people are interested just because I know about it and most people don't . I told some friends from work that I am building a watch from parts bought on the internet and two guys brought it up again at two different times. some people find it more interesting than others, but once i get into it more than just "i have a cool watch" or "that guy has a nice watch" and my friends see that it's a hobby i know something about, theyre more than willing to chat about it, and like i said, some find it pretty cool

  10. Yeah, I guess I sounded a little brash, but here's the thing.

If there were multiple flaws, like the CG's on the MBW's, terribly inaccurate face, bad crown, stickers on rotors...etc... on a rep that I loved, I would still go for it and get started modding it. The rehaut is not fixable, though. Am I wrong?

  11. @ delta.

I'm actually almost laughing; I cant find a pic of the helium valve on the gen a n y where.... I think you are right, though. In all the dial shots of the pvd one, you can see the orange helium valve. On all the SS ones, you can't see orange , but it does look like a black HE valve. Maybe they got it right, and that's why this one is a version 2.

interested to see how people like this new version. It's a really cool watch, and reminds me of an old diesel watch I had in college. Really cool. Good luck with that hunt. Im getting a headache....

  12. hmmm....are we looking at the same pics? :g:

    2cddabe4a3bfbc84d7586bbun5.jpg

looks like an HEV valve to me. not sure what the biggest differences are on the two versions, but i do remember comparing the old version to the genuine article and thinking i'd wait for a better version...

    @delta

touche'. I was looking at the pics at 3AM in my defense. I remember talking with you about this when the first one came out and coming to the same conclusion. One of the probs was the color of the datewheel. The He valve is still wrong, though; it should be orange. Heres an old thread:

and a search thread since nobody can ever find the search box...

  13. VERY cool watches. Jay's stepping it up a notch. :tu:

You know, I WAS going to post on the Oris, but not in the same way you guys are.

Lower-right hand corner. Laughed so hard, almost chipped a tooth.

Seems like Victoria has good taste. There are a ton of good reps out there that I wouldn't even wear the gen counterpart of.

Both the TT3 and carlos coste divers are good looking watches in their own right, regardless of brand.

I also like that they aren't as well known to most people so you can wear it without people always asking "is that real?"

  14. I know, I know.... It's great. The quality is like nothing we've ever seen....Everyone loves it....

but can you really call it a super rep with the blatantly obvious rehaut flaw??

It's like an incorrect datefont that you can't correct!!!

Anyone who has a gen or knows what one looks like could spot it right off.

Im still just bitter about it because I waited for it so long, and I still won't get one. But seriously???!!!!??
