  1. I've had 22mm fit a little tight and needed shaving...and I've had supposed 21mm fit more like 20mm. It depends on the manufacturer I guess.
  2. Try sending him a PM. He might have things turned off if he's not accepting appointments for awhile.
  3. My own count is only at 12...not many by some of the standards...I have more in the gen category...but not too many high end gens.
  4. To be honest...I'm not 100% the gen parts will fit. The gen crowns usually fit and are a common mod/upgrade...but a gen crown install may require swapping out the tube as well as I'm not sure of the thread compatibility. The tubes are pretty cheap though. You could also try Peter (Watchstation) or Silix and see if they can supply a replacement crown. A crown from them should fit fir sure. If it's a problem with a faulty part...you could contact your seller to see if they can send out a replacement and that you will do the swap yourself. This will only work if the watch is within the warranty period. You could try posting a question in the Breitling section if you want to go down the gen path to see if anybody has tried installing a gen crown and if the tube is required: "Will a gen Breitling crown fit in the Steelfish (SOSF)?" and get insight into the tube situation and part numbers.
  5. I'm not surprised. There are a few suspect fashion decisions I've seen in the Asian Market. At least the gen looks like it was made to a reasonably high level of quality and attention to detail. I agree though R, that the design makes no sense to the continuity of the brand. But hey...many would say that about the Rolex GMT IIc even!!
  6. Thanks for posting this R!! Agree about the design of the ROO...not my thing either...but good to know the movement is sound.
  7. The price I was indicating was a ballpark for an A7750 with the tricompax mod...NOT a gen ETA 7753. I hoped that was obvious...maybe not...based on the price for the basic A7750 and how much movements with complications seem to cost from China. The gen price for a Swiss is obviously many times this.
  8. That might be a bit tight. I remember a thread awhile back with a rubber strap by By-Tor I think that seemed to indicate it being a bit small. I tried searching for it but couldn't find the right thread in the time that I had...hopefully somebody with the proper wrist size will answer.
  9. It's true. Every now and then we need reminders on how good we have it in the rep world. I remember these high quality days and not even thinking anything was wrong at the time as I didn't think reps could get any better. It doesn't take long to forget the "roots" and the history and just want more, More, MORE!!! I do like that caseback though...especially the "Extreme"!!!
  10. Man my brain is failing. Your avatar line changed already and I can't remember what the old funny one was. Can you post it here for posterity's sake???
  11. You would likely be able to fit a gen one as well if you can source these. The stem threads are USUALLY compatible. You would likely need a new stem as well, but the ETA ones are easy to find and fit in the A7750. I'm just providing options in case you're stuck for parts.
  12. Hmmmm...so if you have the watch...you definitely need the car. Nice stuff.
  13. You can start with my Noob Guide...it will tell you where the Best Sub can be purchased. It's linked in my Signature. Welcome aboard.
  14. This is going to be extremely inaccurate...but more food for thought that given we have 18,000+ members but not all have bought watches or were active in the last 3-5 years...but factor in that a peak login of 1480 in a day probably means that active viewership at any time is 1200+ members a day but much of those are repeats throughout a week...even if 50% of the members bought 1 watch in the last 3-5 years...you're talking 9,000 watches!!! Consider that some like TA8088 have bought more than 1 you've gotta be talking at least 15,000.
  15. The gen looks like the Birds Nest in Beijing (the National Stadium)...with clean casting, polishing, finishing (whatever the proper technical terms are I have no idea). The rep is brutal! I have to say though, that the gen could use a different strap colour...looks a little too much like something I don't want to mention.
  16. Welcome aboard Morlock to the exclusive circle of RWG Premium Content Providers. Great stuff...and keep it coming. Glad to have you on our team!!
  17. Indeed Robbie...you are a definite key contributor and you have the gift of being one of the truly fine folks who keeps this place not only informative...but fun!! That's a great message on the avatar thing. Hilarious...I'm coming up on 2500 and wondering what's going to kick in!! EDIT: Apparently I hit Powermax and did not even know it. Hah hah...doubly funny.
  18. I'm no watchsmith...so hopefully somebody with qualifications will actually correct me...but I'm going to guess that if it's consistent to those dates...it sounds like some teeth might have busted off one of the gears in the date mechanism.
  19. Read the problems of bad QC on faulty watches here, wrong orders shipped, etc...and you'll learn it is ALWAYS the buyer's responsibility to ship the faulty/wrong product back to the seller in order to replace the product. The sellers NEVER pay for return shipping...but they cover the cost of shipping the replacement item back to you. That's how it works. Most Noobs get [censored] off by the this and rant and rave about how when they shop at XXXX store, the store offers return shipping and a 500 guarantee, and a 10% bonus for dissatisfaction with the product. That's not how it works with the rep market. Read the stories here and learn...and think twice about the Paypal dispute.
  20. Hi Bruce...welcome aboard. I'm a bit tight for time here so I'll be brief. The flaws in the SSD are for the most part pretty minor overall. Don't get put off too much by the crticisms of reviews. Depending on your level of fussiness for details...the level of quality of the SSD rep in general is high. People criticise things like the crown guards and the size and positioning of the HEV...but overall they are pretty minor critisms. Look at the reviews...look at gen pics...and if you have problems spotting the flaws...you will be happy with the rep. If the rep screams fake to you for a particular reason...determine if that flaw is fixable by modding or whether or not it's to much of a hassle and move onto another watch. It's a nice watch...you should be happy with it.
  21. Great job Robbie. Man...I have to get off my butt and write something new...
