  1. I ordered mine from Peter (Watchstation). No problem ordering. They're about $20 + shipping...can't remember for sure.
  2. Not my aesthetic taste...but super cool design and engineering.
  3. The one day membership looked interesting...download like a FIEND!!
  4. I like the electronic versions for ease of assembly. I'm a technical information [censored]...so like to have lots of this stuff on hand. I have reference manuals and catalogues going back 20 years...maybe that's why our house is "small"...the stuff is large. I'm finding that the principles of operation seem to apply to all movements as Zig has said. Variances being open heart vs. column wheel...manual wind vs. auto...so get the basics and you'll be covered. It's kind of neat though with all the diagrams... I saw an old torrent of it...I'll have to see if I can find it when I get home.
  5. Hey...at least he's having fun. There are 2 screws on the side of the movement that hold the dial feet down. Even if the feet came off, you can use dial dots to remount the dial. Essentially double sided tape in a small size. The gear that came off is interesting though, but repairable...I think your best solution is to donate the watch to me.
  6. Great collection you have there. PWC does have amazing prices.
  7. Tube and stem for sure!! Possibly a crown to match the tube. Likely it doesn't need the movement. It should be repairable unless it was really botched. What's wrong with the dial??
  8. Has anybody seen this: "The ESEMBLO-GRAF series, originally produced in 1949, is a complete set of volumes detailing with clear and concise directions the disassembly, reassembly and servicing of many of what were (and to some extent still are) the most popular and complicated chronographs. Volume 24 "Chronograph Repairing: Functional Adjustments to the Chronograph Mechanism" was the perhaps the most important of the entire series." It's sold HERE Or...via subscription HERE. Is it worth looking at?? Does anybody have it?
  9. Darmoc and Picard at Tanagra Ok...this one was a Sci-Fi reference for TeeJay...
  10. +1 to the other comments. We have gleaned reliable sites through member's experience here. Save your time, money and avoid hassle by sticking to sites that you can at least see reviews on.
  11. Awesome stuff. I miss my darkroom days. Now, it's all about photobooks and family vacation pics. Fun in it's own right...a very different aim.
  12. Tanfo...you're on fire with the pics. Wow...keep 'em coming.
  13. That's a good one to have though Ubi!!
  14. That's brutal. It reminds of four Yorkshiremen: Oh, we used to dream of flyin' in a plane made of duct tape. Would ha' been a palace to us. We used to fly in an old water tank on a rubbish tip. We got woke up every morning by having a bear's load of rotting fish dumped all over us! Plane? Huh. Luxury. And you try and tell the young people of today that ..... they won't believe you.
  15. It's still one of my fave watches. I should consider getting the gen movement in there...and do the caseback mod too!
  16. Don't short sell yourself Tanfo...it's a GREAT Rep Collection.
  17. I would suggest getting it to a watchmaker for repair. It should be fixable!!
  18. Who in their right mind would have more than 1 watch in the house? I mean really...
  19. ...and what kind of movies did Gioarmani send you?? Just kidding. You are living my son's dream. Everyday he tries to get me to put lots on each wrist. I RARELY accomodate him outside of the house. This is his reference (Bananas Gorilla):
  20. Yup. HBB is a great watch. I never thought so until I had one in my hands. Congrats.
  21. There is...somebody was selling these recently. I can't for the life of me remember what to search for for the thread. It's not in the standard kits. Give Offshore a PM. I think he'll be selling these soon.
  22. Trusty and Josh have just released their GMT IIc with the new decorated Rolex movement. There are a couple threads on this one in the Rolex section.
  23. Looks good. That is a great watch...and the Ti? SCHWEEET!!
