  1. Those are some fast boats. The Melges are beautiful. There's one at the club I used to hang out at.
  2. Nice shots. BTW...thanks for going Platinum and supporting the forum. If you did so this month...be sure to check out Lanikai's raffle thread for recent upgraders. Free to enter...and fun and excitement in full from one of our top members!! Is that the Shawangunks??
  3. Good idea!! Lani always has his eye on the needs of the community!!
  4. Congrats!! If you can do a movement swap, your 21j PO will last a loooooong time. If the movement dies, quick swap. The ETA version will be maintainable by any watchmaker. I find the AT CD series a fantastic watch and one I wear almost all the time. The Hublot has more bling factor to it, and a more in-your-face design...so figure out which you would wear most depending on the circle you are in the most (work, social, etc) and get that. If in doubt...get both.
  5. Congrats on the new PAM. Good to see somebody else out there buying one in a good 40mm size!!
  6. That is one PAM-tastic collection on the table. Wow.
  7. More confirmation what others have said. With leather straps, the big fork is good...and the big BENT fork I think is nice...little bit of leverage for ease of use. The small fork teeth do break. Like Lani, mine have been broken for awhile, but still serves the purpose. You don't need the name brand one, as long as it fits the replacement bits from Bergeon as the no name brand ones will be harder to source. I have a non-branded one similar to what Freddy333 listed as well which has the springbar poker which snapped off. Instead of replacing the point, I use that for depressing stem release buttons...works great...and I use the other end like Lani uses a toothpick for pilot's bracelets.
  8. Check the links section at the top and go to Dealers. That has most of them...others are found in the individual dealer sections accessed from the main page.
  9. It's true. There are many adaptations possible to make most any activity accessible. I'm working on getting the kids very water comfortable and hope to get them kayak touring soon. Other people I know have had their kids doing technical rock climbing on 300' rook climbs by age 5, so most anything is possible. I would keep the boat...unless you want to sell it now, and upgrade to an International 14 later.
  10. It doesn't fit directly and is one of the parts that often needs replacing on an A7750 that The Zigmeister has run out of. Expensive process to make a new one...and impossible to find a replacement for except from a donor movement. More details found here: Francisco's Reversing Wheel Maintenance Tutorial Quotes of note from the above thread: The Zigmeister: "I have modified the ETA reversing wheel, and the ratchet driving wheel (1482) by cutting the pivots down on the lathe and making them fit the Asian 7750...the problem is the time it takes to do the lathe work, and the cost of the ETA parts...it isn't economical to use this as a fix for the problem." Francisco's thread outlines different cleaning processes. You can ask your watchmaker if they have tried the solutions outlined in the article. Good luck. This is one of the classic reasons why The Zigmeister says to get things serviced early before the parts wear out from being dry and dirty. Hopefully yours can be saved with cleaning!!
  11. Wait wait wait...that's what reps are all about. If something is wrong...you'll get notice...otherwise...it's just sitting in processing.
  12. If you're in Toronto, there are a few. PM me.
  13. Doh!! I was wondering that...but dismissed it as I didn't think they would have PR indicator on a 48hr PR. I was thinking 7 days, 8 days...yeah sure...but 48 hrs? Stupid me. I'm a little slow here...wasn't thinking of the gen UN full...3/4...1/2...etc. Thanks.
  14. I use the basic Jaxa style as well. The only issue is that because they are NOT a specialized tool, the fit is a bit loose, so you have to be careful of slippage and make sure things are set as you need them so you don't scratch the caseback.
  15. What the heck is that top subdial for?? They have that manual wind running seconds at 6 as seen in the IWC that Lani did a pictorial of...but that top subdial is weird. If they could do RobbieG's MMD...that would be AWESOME!!!
  16. Nice score!! The PAMs I want aren't made. I want a 310 and a 239. The 310 doesn't exist in rep form and the 239 is hard to get the old version.
  17. The 300 is a great rep. Does yours have the bracelet with pins? I was under the impression that the newer ones have the proper pins instead of screws. I would be interested in what you received.
  18. Excellent stuff. You scooped me. I was going to write one up as well when mine arrives...I will likely do it as well...hey...no harm in getting more material and enthusiasm out there about this excellent piece!! Thanks for the time and effort.
  19. Glad to hear it worked out for you!! Yeah, I can see that issue would bug the heck out of me.
  20. I used to race for years on a 24' boat called a Shark...but with having 2 young kids, most of my big activities like sailing and others have been to the wayside for awhile.
  21. It is a great looking piece. I really like the 2008 Aquaracer as well (orange accents). The new rotor is awesome...and I've seen pics of the rep that have the ETA looking bearing as well. Either way, the bearing mod that Francisco outlines can be done on it either way. I know that the old rotor is accurate...just being like TeeJay and going for good looks over accuracy on this one.
