umm.. guys these are replicas.. so not only can you not afford the car.. you can't even afford the real watch.. I think you might be over thinking this a little..

Consider buying a whole watch, then selling the parts.. You can find whole oyster date and similar models pretty cheaply second hand, away from ebay that is. Strip out the movement, then sell the case, crown, hands etc here or on ebay. You might be surprised how much you may get for them

Use a bracelet pin remover to push the pin out from underneath. They are held in by various means. Usually the pin has a slight bulge on the end, sometimes they are glued, sometimes the crown guard has been punched in slightly next to the pin.

We shall remember them...

Hopefully this means that 7750 versions of the other Grantourismo models are not too far behind.

The Offshore feels very large. Also the Royal Oak bracelets don't adjust well down to smaller wrists as its just can't bend enough to allow for the removed links. I'd suggest trying the real thing first, expecially if you considering the MBW due to its cost.

At least you have large enough wrists to make it look respectable.. I sold mine as it was just too big, and I wear Panerai's with no problem!

Collectors will pay much more than that for a copy of a script of some of the classic films.. so the actual watch seems quite a good investment in the long term.

Capt cope might be interested to know that I am not in fact in England or Wales.. nor any other part of the UK. I'm in New Zealand which is a long way from either. We have some of the most restricive gun laws in the world that were introduced following a gun massacre in the 1980's. Whilst long guns are still fairly common they are all licenced, Pistols are very very heavily restricted and pretty much impossible to get. Carrying guns in public will land you in jail, no exceptions. Police do not carry guns in their normal duties. Criminals can get guns if they try hard enough but the scumbag kid who breaks into houses will pretty much never have one. Also since the criminals can't get hold of guns easily there are fairly low rates of gun crimes like street muggings, carjacking etc.

I always find is amusing that the gun lobby always assumes that they are perfectly responsible to own guns and carry them in public, but that its "other people" who cause all the problems. You only have to look at the huge number of people killed in your copuntry every year by "legit" guns to see that plenty of legitimate gun owners who also have no business owning the things.

As for other weapons, If you hit with a baseball bat you'll probably still live.. pretty sore perhaps but the odds of dying are much lower. If you are shot, especially with a heavy calibre hand gun, you are in real trouble. Likewise you don't get many massaces with baseball bats where 32 people died.

So far as I know there is only a manual wind replica using the Seagul movement at this stage. I havn't see the Gran Turismo series with the Valjoux 7750 inside yet.

Its a fact of life that sometimes the most well adjusted people, or the less so, get angry with someone, or life in general and got nuts.. the difference is that when you go nuts with your fists or even other weapons you might leave some people brused or hurt, when you go nuts with a gun people die.

Those who suggest that more guns is any answer forget that basic human emotions means that sometime people do stupid things they later regret. With guns in the equation that often means someone ends up dead. If guns arn't present the end result is usually hurt feelings, sometime worse, but its very tough to kill 32 people without a firearm.

I like guns.. I enjoy shooting them but I am very very glad to live in a country where no body, not even the police carry guns on public and I am very unlikely to ever see a dispute escalate into carnage.

Please.. some one grab this and upload a torrent of it.. especially for those of us in countries with less than 10 tv channels and no HDTV...

Given how easily the whole thing comes apart it would seem pretty easy to gold plate any part you like.

I wonder incedentally if the real Big Bang in gold is all gold.. or just the parts visible on the outside. You can clearly see the inner case in the blow-up shot above made of steel, and that inner case is not visible once the watch is assembled.

The real Big Bang uses a 7750 with transfer gears.. yes just like our reps. It is not a 7753 even though it has that layout. I expect this is probably due to the 7753 having no quick set date and needing the additional pusher for date change.

So don't mistake the sunken date wheel for a definite sign of a replica.

I think you are confusing the number of sub dials with their position as it relates to reliability. The Asian 7750 is a pretty good movement with 1,2 or 3 sub dials so long as they are in the original positions for the movement. The problem with the movement in watches like the Daytona and the recent IWC's is the transfer gears on the running seconds used to move the sub dial positions, and thus replicate other non-7750 movements.

The 6pm sub dial is not usually the cause of major 7750 problems, at worst it usually just runs all the time which does not stop the watch. The "seconds at 6" daytona is the notorious one as it transfers the running seconds down to the 6pm position.

Regarding a Swiss Big Bang I can't see any reason it can't be done. The real Big Bang uses a swiss 7750 movement, Not a 7753. They in fact have a transfer gear for the Minute counter just like the Asian 7750 uses in many reps. I have a picture if anyones interested.

This also means the sunken date is actually correct for the Big Bang

Looka like the same model I brought from River years ago.. same submariner case with extra thick case back. Nothing like the real deal anyway.

I have one of these, It works well but there is one issue. On some watches especially Omega's the pin must be pushed more than half way out before it can be easily removed. This tool only has a pin of about 6mm or so. For split pins with the bulge at one end its the best tool going as its so quick but I find I use the old black plastic screw type more often still.

Its not a Helium valve. Its a cover for the transfer gear that takes the rotation from the outer bezel and rotates the inner bezel inside the case. The Bently crystal is fixed to the case, not the bezel like the Navitimer. If you look in the Breitling Bently catalogue there is a good graphic showing the assembly.

There was a place a few years ago (probably still exists) that would rent you a Rolex by the day.. but you had to leave a credit card security to the retail value of the watch. Pretty much all the renters kept the watches after having them for a day or so.. and paid full retail price in the process. Quite a good sales model really!!

There are two sizes of stem thread out there, .9mm and 1.2mm. From what you are saying I presume you mean this is for the smaller size?
