  1. Hi,

I prefer the former SLR version (I don't like the date on this one), the version which had a leather strap and less busy dial.

It seems we're back to decent rep prices ??

I don't like the rubber strap shape on this one.

It looks like there is no problem to swap the strap for leather or some SS-bracelet.

I will try out some different combinations.

    ;)

  2. I never complained on the rubber-strap its actually really good.

I have lot of rubber-strap watches, IWC, HBB (2), Porsche, Chopard (2) and also rubberstraps for my PAM and UPO.

So I DO really like rubberstraps but the thing was that I really liked the look of the Flat 6 on SS-bracelet..

Anyhow I talked to Josh and according to him there will not be any rep of that strap, it was actually planed a while ago but they decided to not rep it.

So paying several hundreds for the gen-bracelet that "maybe" fit, no thanks.

    end of discussion ;)

Its always funny how a question turns into something else ;)

  3. Elegant watch! They have used the slanted date window from the Speedmaster Date..

Guess it will not be long before we see the first replicas! :)

If this don't get replicated during 2008 it will probably be the first gen omega for me.. really really nice..

  4. What is this one officially called again? And which sellers sell it? And can anyone post a link to them? I only have a link to one site, and Hublots are not sold there.

Personally, I like the rose gold HBB, but the gen costs more than my car, so I've avoided buying it. I wish the sellers would also list a gen MSRP next to all the models sold, then you could make better purchasing decisions.

Also, I looked online for the gen of this one, and the 1st thing I noticed was that the numbers appear to be a navy blue, but all the gen pictures show the numbers to be black(!).

    Thanks,

Regarding the AR, the "blue hue" dont show 99% of the time.. i just strive to get it to show in my pictures as I like the look of it ;)

Anyhow it is really nice and you can wear it to almost anything , which aint that easy with the RG Tuiga..

  5. Both my gen Zenith and Eberhard seem to be more prone to stainy looking things on their AR, which pretty much wipe off with a little moisture. Seems to be from oil in the fingers, and actually looks a little like an oil stain as well.

I am waiting to get one of these from Andrew- cannot wait.

Quick question though- what is the actual strap size? One of the reviews has it listed as 22mm, and on one of the Gen sites is listed as 23mm- which is right, and if they both are, and the gen is 23 and the rep is 22, that precludes the use of an OEM strap or band.

I NEED ANSWERS!!!! Sorry, just got nervous there for a minute.

    Best,

    -O

In my world its 23.. so I guess 24mm strap will fit ..and also gen 23mm

  6. Perhaps you are right Mickey. I mentioned because in one of the pics you can observe the AR looks like stained. I have a couple of gens and this stained situation doesn't show up, hence "suppposedly" top quality AR.

A few members have had this problem in the past with CDs and SFSOs. But this is just my opinion.

Either way, the watch is an amazing piece.

    Cheers!

Regarding the AR I really had to work with the camera and lighning to get the blue tint.. in most angles you see nothing.. I even used the flash in some shots to show the blue-ar-tint as I really like those images..

wristshots were taking in directly sunlight from window smashing the crystal with light..

Regarding the "stained AR" its my fingerprint that smudged the crystal..

Next time I will clean the crystal before taking pictures =)

    Tint vs. no tint..

I really like the blue tint.. thats why I take images like this..:

    and No-AR-tint..

    take care - tazz

  7. I just checked on that HBB Tuiga and it's almost a grand!!! Ok, I know this might be a bit of a tangent, but where do you guys draw the line for reps? I mean for that money you "could" get yourself a pretty nice gen.

paid 1280 for my RG Tuiga..

I dont buy watches, gens or reps, depending on the price. I buy what I think is beautiful, that is for everything. I have a hard time to forgive my self for spending $150 on a watch that is OK looking but with a good pricetag.

I rather spend $400 or $1280 on something that makes me go "aaah" everytime I see it..and "my god!" evertime i use it..

but thats me, and I dont say I am normal :)

    edit:

just got laughed at by a friend a couple of minutes ago when telling I ordered BOB- and Europelli-straps for > $600 yesterday =)

  8. Try explaing that reason for not buying the gen from your local AD :D

    :)

Yeh, I will start to use the "pizza-guy-excuse" from now on and see how many that thinks I am fully normal .. and then I will blame everything on you..

btw, googling on "pizza-guy-excuse" gives 0 hits... in a week or two there will be a couple ;) haha
