I'm abroad on all continents 5 times per year. Nothing will happen to you, I never wear a gen for a travel.

Beautiful one... I've read your thread.

Thanks, I'll wait for a 1120. So modding crown guards like on subs isn't an option?

Perhaps you remember the thread SMP « too good to be true ». We discovered a seller which was selling an “old factory” (or kind of) Black SMP 2254.50. Only a few of us received the right stuff and unfortunately some did not… I was one of the golden who had the right watch. The watch is my daily beater. It’s really a pretty well built piece. I swim with it for almost 2 years, no sign of rust. Except normal signs of wearing, the watch still looks brand new today. BTW, my gen 2220.80 which is 6 months younger shows more signs of wear, especially on the clasp. I wear it very less often than the rep, I can’t understand that… So, the watch: Silver 2824-2 mov. with a very well done decorated rotor. Asian I think. Hev accurate Rep Pearl is the best I saw, but still far from a gen. Wrong crowns guard Dial is almost perfect. Correct sized hands Bad loupe effect, No AR as the gen. Pic courtesy of Ryaku Insert misaligned about 1mm. Lume on the hands and the pearl is perfect, but too weak on the markers. 60 clicks only Heavy weight built bracelet with a nice clasp pic courtesy of Ryaku As for my SMP chrono, In order to make it definitely a keeper, I searched for a long time gen parts to mod it right. Done: Gen bezel Rep insert from Andrew’s SMP chrono 2594.50, same as gen… Really, I’m not kidding… Gen glass with AR coating Gen dial. As Bricciola did a very good work on my SMP chrono, I gave him this baby too. Super rep will born… I hope... I’m on a 1108 mov, but I don’t know if it will fit. Anyone?

Well, I slipped Over 20 meters on the tarmac... I don't really know how, that was just luck. The watch was very very deeply scratched on the bezel and the end links. The glass exploded too. So regarding that, I'm sure that if I had no watch, my skin or my bone wrist ( sorry I'm not a doc..) would have remained on that road. Same with my helmet, the left part of the visor was destroyed... So put your helmets on!!!

Yeah! I saw your threads, I'm following the process... Can't wait to see yours finished..

I bought my first rep in july 2007 from Andrew I was very happy, to wear it, everything was good on this watch. In fact it's One of the best "out of the box " Omega rep. I even had the nice decorated rotor. Unfortunately one month later, I had a bike accident which destroyed the watch, actually it saved my wrist. Still working fine, in a first step I bought a correct aftermarket insert and glued a gen glass (I know.. I know..) It was nice, the SMP looked like a "warrior's watch" In the mean time I was wearing a 2531.80 rep too. Nice isn't it? I like this watch and consider it as a lucky amulet, so I decided to do things right. I learned on the board everything I had to know about dismanteling a watch, change bezel, dial, glass or swap a movement etc. etc. I bought all the tools I needed and began my quest for gen parts. So I did find a gen used bezel and insert, a gen crown, a gen dial and asked Andrew to send me another case and bracelet. It took me more than one year to get everything. So I began in taking off the scratched bezel and... Destroyed it. F....! I was seriously doubting about my skills as a watchmaker... And a beautiful day the name of "Bricciola" came on the board... Check that: At ome with insert aligned Domenico is really a nice guy. His work is fantastic, fast and serious. He serviced the mov. found me a gen tube and fixed some things I didn't knew. He shipped me the watch without payment! Next monday I'll send him my other project (First I'll pay him This job of course...) We definitely have the perfect warchmaker in E.U. BTW, I sell all my brand new watchmaker's tools

Thanks everyone... Now it's time for another delay. My watchmaker broke the crown, I know that it's an issue on this model, not his fault... I was about to order a gen crown to ofrei or cousinsuk but after the measurements from the watchmaker, I'm doubting again... He measures the crown at 5.97mm or the gen part for the 2599.80 is up to 6mm. CousinUK: GENUINE Omega Crown is 9 x -

Right!! This will be the next step... -
I gave my watch to Domenico in order to service it and change dial, hands, bezel and insert for genuine parts. He told me that I bought the wrong hands... I've bought 2892 hands instead of asian 7750... My mistake, my watch was about to be fully modded. Does anyone knows if the gen hands (1154 or 1164) will fit? I'm doubting watching pics from Ofrei...

I just sent my first watch to Domenico, Can't wait to see the result and send him two more... Ho aspettato a lungo un'orologiaio come te...

SMP Blue rubber strap in 20mm still available somewhere?
casanile replied to casanile's topic in The Omega Area
Yes, you're right. Thank you. This ebay seller "Wholesaleoutlet" could be the last choice if I don't find it. A couple of weeks ago some HK sellers had it, but now they all diseappeared... -
New 7750 modified for SMP chrono. Good news for Speedmaster?
casanile replied to casanile's topic in The Omega Area
I see... Thank you to share your knowledge about the speedy, it's a pleasure. Under a crystal caseback, A seagull should be definitely for the eyes a better option than a mutilated 7750 ... Your way of living this hobby is right and certainly purest than mine. As they say in France: "Each person see noon at his door" my vision is a little bit different than yours about beauty or accuracy of a rep. I mean, I can live with a wrong caseback even if it covers a beautiful movement as I can't see it when I wear it on my wrist. But on the other hand, I really can't stand a wrong dial or a pearl off... As I'm not enough found of wearing an historic manual moonwatch, I'd be very happy to wear a speedy auto a little more closer to a gen. So if factories rep the last coaxial speedmaster as they did for the PO 45mm chrono, I take it. That thing said, I totally agree with you for the 3570.50 moonwatch... -
I'd like to change my SMP chrono bracelet this summer for a blue rubber rep, but I really can't find one anywhere. Any ideas? please... I asked two board sellers, they told me that it was out of production.

I agree but if they rep the coaxial, except for the date, we will not be far from the moonwatch. Check this out:
