  1. I now own two PAM 183s. This is one of the most accurate reps. But there is a chronic weakness with this model that dealers need to address through their manufacturers: the wire lugs attach to the case by means of tiny screws, and these screws never fit properly in place. In fact, you are more than likely to either strip the screw-hole itself during a strap change, or to simply experience a screw meltdown in the form of wasted threads. Another problem is the "quality" of the screws, which are invariably prone to losing metal at the head, making the things impossible to use in short order. (I'm sorry if this post sounds faintly pornographic.) Considering how many different variations of the 45mm watches exist, your chances of buying a malfunction are high, and that's a shame, because the 183s and assorted vintage editions are not only beautiful, they are a pleasure to wear. I think it's important for dealers to recognize the problem and rectify it. Meanwhile, those of us who own the watches already--and who love them--must find a fix for their unreliable fastening system. Perhaps a slighly thicker screw that will seat better in place would provide more dependability. No matter what, there should be a low-cost solution to this dilemna that does not involve the automatic use of a fixative like Locktite. Perhaps Joe and some of the other specialists could weigh-in on the issue....
  2. Superbly elegant strap, Veni--you have excellent taste, and Aaron is a genius! (By the way, shoes made from that leather cost $2000.00 USD.)
