    I applaud your efforts, and hope that it will lead to some sort of solution. But, I really am skeptical that you will be able to fully resolve the date window issue on the rep navitimers. Although the recessed date wheel is annoying, it is only part of the problem. The date window on the Navitimer is huge, certainly much bigger than the date window on our 7750 reps. So if you use a rep dial, it will only look slightly more accurate. A gen dial is not an alternative, as the date window is cut slightly more outboard, as the 7753 date wheel is different. When you install a gen dial you will see the outer edge of the datewheel. I guess that if you made your overlay to 7753 specs, and installed a gen dial, you would have something, but that's going to involve a lot of work and cash. At best I can see one decent franken coming out of this, but I don't see an easy fix for all unfortunately.

    Looking at the image below the issue seem to be the thickness of the new DW.

    It will need to be thin enough, even thinner than the top plate of the mod.

    I have not seen a DW, but it looks to be a plastic sheet stuck on top of a metal ring.

    If the plastic insert could be removed, then it might be strong enough to support itself on top of a spacer ring.

    Anyone familiar enough with a DW to know if this is the case?

    You already have the perfect DW for the MBL. The one the movement currently uses. You take out that one from the movement, install a wrong font DW, and place your CURRENT DW on the top of the wrong one with the mentioned. This is the perfect mod for the MBL, with correct datefont.

    Great, so all I need is the following:

    1x "incorrect" date wheel- any suggested source, someone mentioned lello above?

    1x sutiable spacer ring, may have to improvise here and might also have to semi-glue it with something sticky but not impossible to remove.

    This will be the hard part so any suggestions will be really appriciated....

    Also, has anyone estimated the clearance ? We can't have the new DW rubbing agains the back of the face.

    I love that someone posted that it is fake because of the date wheel. No [censored]! The only way you could find that video is by the link here or on the geek site, nothing about the title would come up in any watch related search. It is completely different from someone posting a video called "Panerai Movement" and showing a 21J Asian.

    I know, I had to laugh at it myself.

    Ok Folks, this is pritty much a cut and paste of my post over on RG...

    Photos alone can't convey just how good this watch is...

    Most photos seem dull and flat, but this watch is far from it.

  23. Now that I'm waiting on a Skyland

    My advice is to forget about the rep leather, they look great for the first few months but then the finish starts to ware off and your left with a black mark (ok if ou have the black leather buy not so nice with a brown strap).

    A genleather (buckle type is cheapest) will last you years, heck it might even outlast the rep watch!!!

    Other option is a Ocean Racer, now thats a nice looking strap on te Skyland.

    I just purchased a V3 skyland on SS off of the board and now I'm waiting for it to arrive. I've test run this watch at an AD and I really want to pick up both a black croc and a brown croc straps for it. I've been searching here and repgeek all morning and I've found a few, but they all either don't have the Breitling deployment, or their the gen croc strap that is like $200.

    I also looked on the bay, but I haven't found anything I like.

    I'm thinking of sourcing them from Watchstation, but they come out to like $70 a piece shipped and I'm not sure how long it will be until they arrive.

    I guess my first question should be does anybody have one that they want to sale? Where do you guys usually get your Breitling straps for the Skyland?

    Oh by the way, I am freaking psyched about this watch. I'll post up pics when it arrives.
