  1. hi guys, I need a solid gold vintage bracelet for a project of mine which I will hopefully be able to share with you all soon, anyone have contacts or recommendations? ideas on pricing? thanks in advance, Robbie
  2. could someone tell me how to get a hold of puretime and provide me with a link? am interested in the breguet, love it!!! if u dont want to post it, pls pm me! thanks, Robbie
  3. I can only say that exactly the same thing happened to me, got forwarded an emaoil address and the same process started. Cannot remember from who though, could have been Hewhoislikegod, not sure. but I checked with someone who was in contact with DW and he confirmed it was unauthentic address.so, luckily, I didnt go ahead!! Shame, I am sorry for your loss. Robbie
  4. Well, I was just going to let them loose, but Ill hold back the troops for now! shame bout the watch, was really looking forward to it. thanks offshore for offering to help, all the best mate!
  5. hi guys, to all the fellow members from down under, is there anyone that can help me out please: I do not have a paypal account but am looking to purchase from a member who insists on paypal. I am on a business trip in africa and reluctant to using the local internet cafes to set up a credit card-using account, therefore if anyone is willing, i would transfer aussie dollars into their account after which they could use their paypal account to send funds to the other member. Help would be greatly appreciated, All the best, Robbie
  6. just a question back: do you know much about daydates?! No genuine daydate exists in stainless steel. I am not searching for a WG watch, i am searching for the rep of the white gold model, the only non yellow or red gold model rolex has ever produced. and regarding stainless/white gold coating, this is part of my question: is EL´s version plated with white gold, or merely stainless steel, as i believe pauls version is? I would believe the plated version would seem more authentic, would you not? So, if anyone has the answers to my little quiz: shoot! all the best, Robbie
  7. hi guys, have been contemplating a white gold daydate, non fluted bezel, seems EL´s version is the best to get, can anyone that owns one give me some feedback concerning weight, feel and overall finish? I think ill stay away from the aspire type models, but how much better is EL´s version really? any comments appreciated, Robbie
  8. can someone fill me in on what the issue here is?! the guy posted a watch and stated its of higher quality than asian build. So? if river or eddie or wm did the same no one would be on him like that. I really wonder sometimes about the general hostility of members on the board. I may be missing something here but it looks to me as if tourbillon merely posted a project. what u think of it is ur deal, no need to insult people. exactly the same happened to me when i posted my paul newman pics. why give people [censored] before you ask normal questions. if people offer unusual projects, be happy about it, dont automatically be weary and [censored] them off. I own the original iwc 3706 and the offered watch looks nothing like the real deal, but im not on him over it, its his project, if someone buys it, hell, good for him! sometimes i really think some people here need to find something else to do. or grow up. my 2 cents.
  9. hey guys, was just wondering, the 7753 allows for complications such as day dates and moonphase along with the chrono, why does no one rep these and make a good patek or so? it seems pretty logical to me? any thoughts?
  10. hey guys, thanks for the input, got mine from a friend who lives in BKK and sends them to me, this way i know whats coming is good. seems no one can get a faldo anymore. oh well, from what i can gather, the bezel is brushed, therefore the rep is correct except for the gold screws, which i will leave as they look better! i remember a friend of mine asking me why i was wearing such a cheap looking crap watch( he is used to me and my rollies), then suddenly the rappers started wearing AP and he goes : wow, is that a royal oak?!lemme see!! its crazy how the image defines peoples outtake on watches. i have always loved the design, regardless of what theyre worth. all the best, Robbie
  11. no buddy, there is one on ebay.com from sweden, currently at 170 dollars, but i couldnt wait so i got the foundation model. its really nice, im starting to love the blue face, and to be honest i kind of prefer the gold screws, find it gives a healthy contrast to all the steel. still am confused in regard to bezel, whether mine is correct or not. all the best, Robbie
  12. ok, that was short , but what does brushed entail? its the same one as the model king has for sale, is this correct? cheers, Robbie
  13. hi guys, just got a new AP royal oak foundation model with blue face, nice thin case, but the screws are gold. this needs changing. how would u reccomend one polishes them down? then, is the bezel supposed to be polished? have read this a few times but upon seeing pics of the original i wasnt so sure. if certainly so, how would one do this? any help appreciated, Robbie
  14. it was not a rep!it was a solid gold daytona that the swiss banker claimed was a rep in order to get by the cop who was suspicious as to why a guard would be wearing one!duh! by the way: the movie is the worst i have seen in years!!stay clear!! Robert Langdon's mickey mouse watch is in fact an ingersoll, a popular cheap model made for kids around the 40's and 50's. i would prefer the gerald genta mickey mouse watch:)
  15. the "glass" is in fact plastic, so its stuck on there pretty badly! paint thinner might be the last resort!
  16. actually, I dont fancy the movement at all. Looks good from afar, but cheapie at close. just my 2 cents!
  17. hey guys, I am such an idiot! The bezel fell off my vintage GMT (the one TTK has on offer now, bought it in BKK, can only recommend it!mine does however have the adjustable GMT hand.) and i tried to glue it back with normal superglue! now, the bezel is higher on one side, as more glue there than on the other side. AND even worse, glue got on the plastic glass and it looks a mess. can anyone suggest how to get it off without scratching the glass?(even more....!) cheers, Robbie
  18. I think the watch would be coming from either Bangkok or Singapore, but my friend offered to buy the watch for me and have it sent to a mate of his here in sydney where i could pay in cash, as they do business together. It would have to be arranged accordingly for other areas. I know shipping is not a problem with this guy, have ordered numerous original datejusts and cartiers for friends and family, sent here (OZ) and to Germany, and have never had any issues whatsoever, he sends them with repair invoices. still waiting on those movement pics and am just as curious as the rest of you!
  19. @fitch: its cool, just asking for respectful interactions amongst us all! whatever floats ur boat regarding only cases: I had suggested that, but the price the dealer quoted for just the case was ridiculous compared to finished project. just not worth it. Didnt DW sell gold kits back then? Anyone still gotten a hold of him? I have been looking for this watch for a while, and for me this option is thus far the cheapest. luckky is selling for more, even though i will not disclose his price. (although i dont know why i should show respect for someone who does not reply to genuinely interested mails of offer!) i am looking to get the screw in pusher version, but i am worried about the quality of screw ins , i guess non screw would be safer or at least easier to fix. I have a guy i know who can produce cases, and 18k guaranteed ones at that for good money, yet one would need a case that matches the exact measurements. i also doubt he could make screw in pushers. well, any suggestions or interest, as i said please drop me a mail, cheers, Robbie
  20. @krustybrand: what does improper countersinking of bridge screws mean? The seller has guaranteed it is a valjoux handwind 72, and I trust him to tell me the truth. I guess the movement pics im waiting for will clear this. at the others: please point out anything else, as the more i know the better! The PN dial is Singer, i think it is the same as most PN dials on ebay, but not sure. Robbie
  21. alright, I am seriously getting [censored] off. All I have done is shown u people what I have come across and explained exactly what I know. i have not animated anyone to send me money or ever proposed this. I am not acting as a dealer nor am I making a profit, as I have explained I thought a few of you might be interested to know these things exist and for what they go. if you ask around, I am sure some of the dealers on the web will source this exact watch for you, I dont think these are too hard to come across if u work in the business. Money would not be sent to me, but to a respected dealer (whom i guess quite a few of you would know)whose details would be given to those genuinely interested, i do not want all kinds of idiots bothering this guy and getting info, then simply disappearing as is so often the case on these boards. I would pass on to those I know are active contributors to the boards and i would ask them to refrain from spreading the info freely. Just because I share this info I am being suspected of being a scam, etc. How clear do I have to be till people understand where I am coming from? I have clearly stated that the pics are of TWO watches, do some people ever read bloody mails to the end before wetting their pants?!!! I myself have had issues with the subdials and have asked for opinions. what follows?!Oh, he's probably a scammer! nice one! AND: if i have difficulties uploading the pics it is alone my problem and I in NO WAY do I have to explain this to anyone. if u cannot wait 1 DAY for pics, then simply find something else to worry about. I have posted pics now, what more can I do!!! I might have been able to lower the price for my own watch by a few hundred dollars by passing on a few more orders, but if this entails listening to so much s.it, then do your own homework and get the f..k out of my face. The money is NOT worth my time. I was merely trying to share my enthusiasm about what I found, if this is too much for some people to understand and turns them to disrespect they are not worth my effort. If u want to go through luccky, do so, as I stated he was where I began anyhow!!I tried through him and got no reply after the first mail. All the best, Robbie
  22. guys, have tried to upload last pic and it did not work. these are basically the interesting pics i have, the others are of back and side, will post as soon as it works. movement will follow, as i said. what do you guys think so far? Anyone has ideas on the subdial hands?
  23. thanks, but the mail i have the pics from is mixed with personal stuff as he is a good friend, so i dont like sending the mail off as a whole, but there are not that many pics anyway, so bear with me please!
  24. tried it, pls let me know if it worked, then i will attach the rest.
