  1. Thanks guys. Yes the tail is incredible, as is the buckle. Very impressed.

Being a flat buckle they are not quite as comfortable while sitting at the desk at work (just got in), but it looks fantastic.

And looking at the wrist, you can see the GPF- Mod Dep text which looks awesome. In the daylight this strap is stunning.

  2. Hi All,

Thought i'd take some pictures of the 233K again but this time on Micah's 'flagship' strap, the Mauser. This is a medium color w/ white stitch and I can easily say it is one of the best i've ever owned. I'm hoping to also get a darker brown w/ green stitch down the track but for now, this will suffice. Previously i've only owned Micah's brindle in 26mm and I absolutely loved that strap. I would like to also grab one of his copperplate and vdark straps next.

The texture and feeling of this strap is second to none. And believe me, i've owned at least 1 strap from just about about every quality strap maker. That includes Simona, Micah and Ted Su. To describe this strap, its most similar to Ted's rare swiss ammo but much more pliable. Anyway, here goes. Pics were taken indoors tonight with the flash so they're not like my usual pictures. I really need to learn to soften the flash but either way, these were the best pictures from tonight and I thought i'd share.

    Cheers,

    Jay

  3. True L.. also, no two reps are always the same im sure. Just because the print was bad on the V2 pictueres by Toro doesn't mean it is on yours.

Actually can you do a rough comparison (just with your own eyes) with your watch (V2) and you old V1 or Toro's pics of his V1.

Just curious to know if its a one off or if the text is in fact poorly printed across the V2 supply. Thanks in advance. :)

  4. I agree. The V2 (latest version) is the better representation. :)

Just in the pics I posted above, it seems as though the dial text is sharper on the V1.

Looking at it again though, the markers are a little messy on the V1, better on the V2.

    V2 overall is the go.

  5. Thanks for this Lankai. I was waiting on your review.

Came across this yesterday on RG though. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=69587

Seems as though what you say is correct, but a direct comparison by Toro shows that the V2 dial print is terrible compared to the V1.

From what I can tell, V1 dial + V2 case/watch + Chief AR + Vaclume will give you an incredible Top Gun. :)

Spoke to Vac about doing an all in one (buy the watch, lume it, send crystal out to chief) and he says its possible. I just gotta choose V1 or V2.

  6. You wont find a 233 for $7k. You wont find one for $8k either.

I got lucky when I bought mine. A 233K series, 4 months old which needed a little TLC ($400 bezel replacement!) for $8600 USD.

Let me repeat myself. I was lucky!.

I check the value of this watch on the various sale forums on a weekly basis (to keep up to date) and this is what I can see.

    233I - $8500-$9000

    233J - $9000-$9500

    233K - $9500-$10500

If you can save a little more and buy a 233, i'd try and aim for a J series and up as I have read of a couple issues (minor) with the 233I.

  7. For an all in one no fuss package which still costs less than half as much as a Gen, LH watches are great. Particularly if you have his latest version.

His lume (daylight, not lit) doesn't quite look the right color but Vac can fix that. The outside AR simply needs to be stripped also.

$1200+$120 is pushing it, $800 is MUCH more reasonable IMO, but just because Gen's are available for $3400, doesn't mean the buyer has the extra $2100.

I hope to buy a LH PAM, but it wont be a 111 or 112, it will be a 219. Reason being that he's the only one to have a 'correct' movement available.

And IMO, The Zigmeister does the best work. I've owned enough pieces which have passed through his hands to say so. Vac's work is stunning also (love my BP)
