  1. Just an update on the lume. I put this and my DSN 089 under a bright light for 30 minutes and then took them up to bed in a totally blacked out room. At first the lume glowed green but that only lasted a few seconds until it turned blue. This lasted at least an hour as I drifted off, but when I woke at 6AM [8 hours after initial charge] the lume was white[ish] and completely readable. Moreso than the DSN 089, which surprised me. So it passed the lume test in my book
  2. This is a great review, cheers. I recieved mine today and I've already oiled the bracelet and dried it. It feels better than when it arrived [didn't feel bad to start with] I've still got to get to grips with the slidelock system but this is the first rep with a SS bracelet that has needed no adjustment and fits on my wrist perfectly from the package [i'm the same, one pinky under the clasp to the skin] This is my first [and prolly only] Rolex as I've not really liked one this much before, and I too am in a quandry as to whether to send to Chiefy for his double AR. I know the gen doesn't have it, but chief's AR doesn't go blue, it just makes the crystal 'dissapear'. Dunno, I'll have to think some more Love the feel of it on and it's a real heavy one. Heavier than my Blackbird. I have it sitting under a bright light charging right now, so when I hit the hay I can test the longevity of the lume
  3. Yes you are right about the 90 click bezel and the edge of the case seems a bit 'sharper' to the touch. The good points however are The AR is better than the UPO's [from factory] The rep UPO rubber strap that I bought previously fits like a dream and doesn't 'pop out' It'll do until my UPO comes bak from k2222 anyway
  4. Let me know how you get on as I'll be very interested cheers and takashi, a 7750 asian with 28,800 would be fine with me
  5. Thanks, that's handy to know. I really like this rep, but I can't put up with the crap movement inside it at the moment. It keeps running fast and the only way to slow it down to normal is by running it with the chrono going..And it near enough ticks. Ugly, Ugly looking chrono hand 'sweep' What would a ball park figure be for a new asia val 7750 [or preferably the Swiss ETA but they are out everywhere] and someone ITK to fit it?
  6. Will a 7750 fit into this model? It is my favourite rep at the moment and maybe worth spending money on
  7. The one thing that lets the Carlos Coste down is the sub standard movement. Can you stick a better quality one in, bearing in mind the difference in location of the day/date and chrono buttons/crown?
  8. That does help to some extent. But help me with this if you can I was intending to send this to k2222 for double AR/date wheel swap [my other UPO is with him now] so then I would be stuck with the 2836 movement..Since this is on a closed caseback, that's not too much of a biggie. What would be a biggie is if the second hand didn't sweep as well as my UPO [which sweeps as smooth as silk] What do you reckon the negatives would be AFTER the k222 treatment? and Is it worth my paying k2222 to mod this or should I just move it on? thanks in advance
  9. What's the difference between UPO's from dealers like Andrew or Josh, and Silix's? I have had both over the last few months and sold on. I now just have a Black/Black UPO that Ruby sourced for me, but I have a Black/Orange one from Silix on the way, purely to fit the good new PO rubber strap that I have. I've seen posts saying "UPO wanted but not the Silix version" Why is this?
  10. I think I may know to which dealer you are refering. I also had a rude and angry response from this dealer after I had purchased both for myself anf others about 20 reps just before Christmas. One of these packages was lost by the delivery service this end [they admitted fault] and the dealers reply was onlong the lines of "So what the f**k. A parcel gets lost by ********** and all of a sudden it's my problem!" This indeed IS the sender's problem as if I sent something and it was lost or stolen in the post, the onus is on me to replace the goods or refund the buyer as it's only the sender that pays postal insurance when sending. OK for certain reasons they far undervalue packages when sending, but they know the risks involved and make enough profit on the parcels that don't go missing
  11. on this site hXXp://www.watchez.com now it could well be a scam site [i dunno] but the point is..I didn't think that this had been repped as it's not on any of the trusted dealers sites. I must admit to being tempted. Or should I avoid like the plague?
  12. But our boy Ricky is going to whip your boy's ass tonight ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON!!!!!
  13. Why do people put one thing in a PM then another on the main board? Anyway, appology accepted, let's draw a line under this now we both know where we are coming from and neither of us are trying to 'flame' the rep scene Seriously though, it may be only me, but it's the 42.5mm that put me off buying the BB, whereas if it had been a 44mm rep then I would have gone for it. I cannot understand why, if a watch is going to be 43.7 and 46mm [depending on the version] why they make the rep 42.5mm? anyone else feel I have a valid point? Or am I being too picky about detail?
  14. PM replied now hopefully you'll realise that I'm not a wet behind the ears idiot
