  1. I am a little confused about the Jones size, in diverse dealer pages it says 42mm, 43mm or even 44mm.

The gen Jones case diameter is 43mm, with a case height of 11.7mm. Perhaps one of the members who has received their replica can confirm the dimensions of the rep.

  2. Your movement does look better than the IWC movement, which is pretty ugly if you ask me...but i think you'd sell more more, at least around here, if you used your skills to try to get the 6498 looking as close as possible to the IWC movement. What is beautiful to a rep collector is similarity, not "prettier but different." For the Jones, I'd cut the bridges as close as possible, do the engraving, paint the sockets, etc. Probably not cost effective to put dummy screws in the winding gears and make some dummy regulator to simulate the IWC, but I predict movements with "correctly" shaped and engraved bridges and engraving would sell out in fifteen minutes if priced right.

I agree. If tourbillion1801 could do that, we'd see this thing taken to a whole new level.

  3. I saw that post as well. There's no way they'll use the swirly dial watch in the movie (I have no evidence... just using common sense). He'll use a normal 300 M Diver Chronometer, while the swirly dial version will probably be a limited edition available to the public, just like they did with the old "007" dial Seamaster.

  4. Why the factories would rep that and not a Sinn 656 I guess I'll never know

I agree. Once in a blue moon someone asks for a B&R rep. Loads of people have asked for Sinns and proper IWC pilot watch reps. So what do they do? A bad decision on the rep manufacturer's part, IMO.

(and whilst we're at it, give us the damn RO Chrono already...)

  5. The UK original was hilarious. Hope Ricky hasn't peaked too soon though!

Unfortunately the signs are not good. The episode of the Simpsons he wrote was probably the most poorly written and unfunniest episode in recent years.

  6. A new dial would definitely make this watch perfect admin... the only flaws I can see are the maltese cross... the date window... and maybe the date font??? everything else seems PERFECT!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

The hour markers on the new rep are too far away from the inner bezel, compared to the gen. The 9 and the 3 are also a fraction too far away from the hour markers. Hands up who can source new dials...

  7. I did not lock any threads on RWG (it must have been (an)other moderator(s))

I've seen lots of posts referring to Gran locking threads on RWGi. I'm amazed that the person(s) that actually did lock those threads has still not (as far as I'm aware) publicly owned up to it, and instead let many members continue to think it was Gran and contribute to the general feeling of ill-will towards him.

  8. I just sent a warning to all the bidders... I have one of these, but I haven't been able to find any photos of the genuine in titanium... Does it exist?

Thanks. You're already ahead of me. Not sure if it's also worth reporting to eBay via the link in the Sticky, given that the auction has ended.

  9. The picture was actually from the original seller ("leggas", from Australia), and wasn't very good. But I had to use it because my camera is crap. The dial I sold was in about 98% condition.

Did you buy from "watchpool"? When I asked what diameter the dial was, he never responded...
