My new Aquaracer Quartz Chrono

This is my first review so go easy on me.

I have been looking for a cheap quartz aquaracer for a while but have been put off with the lack of day date version available. I eventually came across this watch on CQout from a seller called Eshopping88. The watch was priced just

The ETA 6497 is a bulletproof movement. How old is your rep?

Does your watch stop at the same place. Maybe it's something else or maybe it is Asian movement.

It is an asian movement

It stops in different places all of the time. I cant figure out why.

What's the motivation for going with a 6497-2 over the much more readily available 6497-1? Are you looking for a Panerai decorated 6497-2?

T's movements are decorated, but not decorated like a PAM movement.

I dont really have a preference over the movement to be honest. I have a 111h and the movement stops randomly, my watchsmith cant find out what is wrong with it so I am looking for a replacement movement.

I prefer windows mobile based devices, anything that the iphone has you can get as an application for a WM Phone. I currently have this

It doesnt have as fast a processor as the iphone but its fast enough, has great battery life and is very small.

Does anybody know where I can source the above movement from? With or without swan neck.

Not on this model as it actually comes with AR coating on the crystal.

The blue tint is quite close to the gen.

If you want to go for the best. Get yourself the version with dagger swan neck.

I already have this watch, Silix sent it as a replacement for another PAM that had been faulty but it is much nicer than what I was expecting as is not the watch in the link as advertised. I am very happy with it.

SILIX PAM 111

PAM 111H (stainless steel with sandwich dial and small second at 9) and basic asian movement (CDG decoration and OP XI bridges, but missing swan neck).

Jay never ended up finding me this movement so we are have come to an arrangement over a replacement, However I still have a busted 40mm PAM sitting there torturing me. Does anyone know where I can get the movement above from? Ofrei have it but it is $26 for the movement and $28 delivery to the uk. I can get a new watch for that price. I have checked on the cousins website but they dont have it.

Sorry it took me so long Laz, I forgot

The seller billhk2001 aka KURTYIU has inserts with well centered pearl, I bought mine from him.

Thats the guy I got it from. The pearl was well off but he is sending a replacement however, even if the new one is spot on the pearl is far from accurate and looks nothing like the current bezel insert.

I have just received a new bezel insert from somebody on ebay recommended by a member of this board. When the insert came the pearl was really far off centre. I have emailed the sleer and he has shipped a replacement however not only was the pearl bad but the numbers are oversized. Does anybody know where I can get the same insert that comes with the SMP Chrono?

Is this a rep or a gen?

If its a gen it uses a bog standard ETA 2836-2 (I have this watch) and I can't believe your watchsmith can't source a stem for it, Cousins in the UK have them or Ofrei if your in CONUS. If its a rep then its a different story, you'll need to find out what movement is in it.

on the other note ... not all of us have wide screen displays i carry a small 12 inch portable x60s with 1024 x 768 anyway this can be resized and not loose the picture and the details ?

The only way to do this is to crop them. I will do this for you later as I am on the train at the moment.

I found that common or garden super glue will stick to the strap, well to the strap retainers anyway, one of mine split and I have glued it while Silix sends my replacement. It is holding very well especially when you see how much pressure it is put under with such a thick and grippy strap.

Beautiful watch. I am wearing mine now and I have to agree with By-tor, the PO and the SMP Chrono are both amazing reps.

What size wallpapers should I be doing, by the way?

1280 x 800 is the more common res these days. The falling costs of laptops means more people than ever are using them and most laptops are now widescreen. Its a right pain in the [censored] resizing wallpapers all the time lol.

I am always looking for good Omega wallpapers. These are great. Especially the 1st one.
