  1. After many weeks of waiting (as we all must for watches like this one!) I finally have my completed IWC 3717 :tu:

This shot shows off the double AR in sunlight...check out the cross below the 2:

Now lets see this classic beauty strut for the camera!!!

The strap is the Meyhofer Berlin 22mm, and I really love it...super soft and still robust enought to balance this sizeable chronometer. The best part about the strap is it's less than

  2. Hey Chris, at the level speed acquisition, you should have 100 watches at the end of this year ;)

Hah! God I hope so! Umm, I'm not sure if my new bride is with me on this idea though...

I love having all these wonderful watches around...but to be honest, I bought both of these a while ago...I had the 3717 at the GTG, but kept it in the hotel room as it was wounded from my attempt at the day/date swap...pesky hour wheel pinion broke off in the hand... -_-

The sub is also not new...just a new crown/tube... B)

And to top it off, in order to buy the Hublot that I just got I sold two of my babies...the Chopard GT XL and the Lange Baton dial from my wedding post. So this month I actually have FEWER watches. Damn...what's up with THAT??? Okay, I gotta go find some watches to buy!!! :D

  3. cronsell......"MA MAN"!!!!!!! you got it goin on.. brah.... can't wait to see the pics !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Thanks Lanikai!

I'm really excited to get my 3717 back, it's a watch I've really fallen in love with! And the Sub should be about as good as it gets...swiss noob with gen bezel and BKLM1234 crown and tube! I was told by the watchsmith that I might have to wait a day more...I hope not to disappoint anyone, but I may not have the goods until later this week. -_-

HOWEVER...I just made payment on something I'm really excited about...a Hublot Big Bang SS/SS (right case, highbeat A7750, double AR) with smooth strap...a combo I've been dying to see, and now it's mine! I'll put it on my wrist hopefully by the end of the month! B)

  4. That thing is beautiful Chris! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Thank you! I'm actually on the fence about selling it...I have another Chopard (GMT Chrono panda dial) on the way once I settle in the U.S. next month, and I've got a fever for a Hublot Big Bang...can't get the platinum mat finish out of my mind, I dream about that watch at night! I don't know about spending that much money though, so I'm thinking lite version first...SS/SS or SS/RG to see if I really like it! Either way, this watch could help fund that project and doesn't get a lot of wrist time...but then I look at these photos and can't decide! :p

  5. Thank you for your help guys!

I think it's strange that they would make the GMT Chrono crystal this way since there is no font on it as there is with the newer Chrono. It seems like it would just be a single crystal and then the cyclops. I would understand if the cyclops were made of acrylic or something, which would also put an end to this idea, but two piece? I just don't know enough about crystals in watches to make a truly educated guess.

Either way, I tried the gen of the new chrono on a few weeks ago...didn't do anything for me -_- so I will go with the GMT Chrono in a panda dial, the light factory single AR will just have to do...

  6. I'm hoping to get a new Chopard GMT Chrono (panda dial, thanks to seeing Admin' at the GTG in Brussels!). Does anyone know if the cyclops is glued onto the crystal, or is the crystal one piece? I want to send it to Jakub B)

  7. What makes a Lange so beautiful? It's truly a piece of art, jewelry-like in every detail.

When it comes to dress watches, I think the replica world has it's hands full...a good dress watch is jewelry for a man, costume pieces just don't glitter like diamonds do!

A dial alone has too many beautifully finished pieces made of precious materials to replicate with any "genuine feel" to it. I think a solid gold case goes a long way towards gen feel, but the movement and dial on a Lange or Glash
