  1. hmm. didn't know that and would love to hear about it before I pull the trigger.
  2. I am also looking at the 5th Version non ceramic POs. They are very well priced with the 4813 version. What is the general opinion on their quality, accurateness etc.. The Ceramic are too expensive and will wait for the Asian ETA versions, if they ever do, to arrive.
  3. My 1911 needs a little freshing up. It is not polished surface so the Cape Cod cloth is out. Should I just use a Scouring Pad from the kitchen to clean it? Any tips?
  4. Can a A7750 be replaced with ETA 7750 without any issue of hands? I had heard that the hands might not fit from Asian to Swiss.
  5. Sorry for the late reply. Work gets in the way The watchsmith I am working with is pretty competent and showed me the part. It is in bad condition. I have also ordered a pair of hands as I scratched mine pretty bad but our trusted dealers can't source just the chrono second wheel with the tube. I would need someone to donate/sell the chrono second wheel if they have one and hope it fits. I am in Washington,DC area and open to a second opinion if someone can recommend a trusted watchsmith.
  6. AstroAvia, I saw my friend work on a small screw but not as small as a crown and tube. When I asked more about the product and his experience, he mentioned that he has repaired much smaller furniture cabinet screws. My point is, if it is already stripped, there is nothing to loose. This product costs a few bucks.
  7. With so many watch crowns and tubes going bad, had anyone ever tried thread repair stuff like the one from permatex. I was over at my friend for a game and he was repairing his bike's stripped thread with http://www.permatex.com/products/Automotive/thread_compounds/thread_repair/Permatex_Stripped_Thread_Repair.htm Thoughts?
  8. I got the bug to play with watches movement. Long story, end result I mess up my beloved A7750 panda ebel and am luck enough to find a proper watchsmith, he is not cheap While working on my A7750 Ebel, I messed up my Chrono Second Hand Wheel - this is the stem that rises from chrono mechanism to move the large chrono second hand. I take it to the watchsmith and he replaces it with the Chrono Second wheel from the 2 movements I have been practicing on and I am thinking problem solved. NOPE, the barrel (tube) from the movements I have used for donors is smaller that the Second hand opening, with the result the second hand never sets back to 12 when we reset the chrono. It goes willy-nilly where it wants. He has even tried to see if ETA is compatible, it is not. What are my options, I love my Ebel Panda and want it back to its glory and I swear never to even open the caseback of a A7750. thx
  9. I got the bug to try and understand the mechanics of watches. Anyone has broken A7750 high beat movement they like to sell/donate. I want to learn to take apart and assemble these machines. Thx.
  10. Mickey, I was seriously considering this watch from what I thought were good reviews. Looks like you have punched a lot of holes into into. Maxman has given link to a SS, Red Lettered version. What version do you recommend. I have read that the blue one is off in color. Also see, Thanks.
  11. This questions has been asked several times, but for reasons I can't come up with, never answered!
