Guest avitt
i know u mentioned that you were not doing dlc on bracelets before, are you offering this service now? I will do bracelets by customer request, on a case-by-case basis...as long as the customer acknowledges and accepts the potential problems and shortcomings involved in coating bracelets. Not all bracelets are good candidates. They must have enough space between the links to allow adequate coverage.
Guest avitt
Great work If you could colour-match the PVD coating of the PAM028, I'm sure a lot of people would prefer this more durable DLC coating as long as it "looks" the same, especially as the only good source we had (Rolli) is not happening for the time being. Thanks Chronus! I never bothered to put any effort into color matching - primarily out of respect for the efforts that Rolli has put into reproducing the appearance out of vintage Panerai PVD. He is truly an expert in the techniques used to create the early look, and I never hesitate to recommend his services when it comes to color matching. That being said, I am not sure that my DLC is not appropriate for vintage pieces. The only criticism I've heard is that it's too durable, and won't scratch up as easily as PVD (which is true. But DLC can be scratched - it just requires more work). Nobody has specifically told me that DLC is too light, or too dark, or too shiny, or anything else... I have posted a lot of pics of DLC coated Pams. They are all indexed here. Maybe someone who is more familiar with vintage PVD (than me ) can take a look through the pics, and let me know what needs to be changed to emulate the look of PVD. Even better yet, maybe someone who owns a piece that I've coated can comment...

As for the match, here is my Avitt DLC 009 (with the CG not DLC, don't ask ) and the Gen: And here is the Gen: As you can see, it's not perfect, but I prefer this finish and it will last! Guest avitt
Thanks for the pics, Milesd! It's not a perfect match, but I'm pretty sure that you won't be getting called out

I don't want it getting scratched! And it just looks like you take more care of your watch as well I guess an expert like Rolli or kruzer could tell how accurate it is, and I have one of the out-of-production PAM028s, specifically bought back then in SS to eventually get the correct PVD (or DLC if it's the same of course!). I've never worn the watch and it's still in EL's box with pillow I can't wear it until the PVD/DLC is done
