thoughts on bargain UPO?

Hi All,

I'm very new to the rep/watch game, and Have been trying to learn a lot, but am definitely still in the neophyte stage.

I picked up a a cheap UPO from silix, like 45.99 cheap, I purchased it with no expectations, basically just buying it to see how the larger size would feel on my wrist.

My first rep purchase was a POrikaa, and obviously I'm blown away by that rep.

My question is, would it even be prudent or worth it to try and upgrade the UPO?

just from my observations the bezel isn't very good, and the crystal seems to be very flat compared the PO.

First off, it's not a UPO. It's just a 45.5mm PO. UPO stands for "Ultimate Planet Ocean", which refers to a specific high-quality copy.

Secondly, you're better off picking up a proper UPO, preferably with the Swiss ETA movement.

Aha! thanks for the correction.

Like I said, I purchased it, just because I wanted to get a grasp for the feel/size.

I figured it was probably a lost cause to try and upgrade since I was starting with such a low end piece, thought I'd pose the question.

The proper UPO is so good, though. Here's mine after a few mods:

Pug is right, the true UPO is a better platform to begin modding, simply because it will accept most gen components. The silix version that you have is best to be kept as a beater watch.

I have a gen and I gotta pick up one of these just to see if they're as good as people say they are.

This place is amazing, I initially came here to just buy a few reps in the hopes doing research before investing in a gen.

I'm strongly considering just learning more and more, and buying many more high end reps, instead of 1 or 2 gens.

i was buy planet ocean 45.5 from narikaa and the quality is amazing for 65gbp!195gr is very heavy!amazing watch!keep time perfect with dg2813!what can i say!i buy in the past many replicas but this james bond watch 45.5 is perfect!
