jfreeman420
I check honpo every now and then and to my surprise it looks like they have made some very high end Iced Jacobs. Now I know no one here really cares and probably wouldn't be caught dead in one of these, but since my iced Jacob purchase I have been longing for a high quality version. The stones look expertly set and although the dials are unappealing to me, I would like to see one of these with a high quality iced bracelet and a standard dial. Looks like they have a MOP version too. Does anyone know if these are just for the Japanese market or are these available for us as well. I cannot contact Honpo as I understand they only deal with Asian clients. One of these would definitely satisfy my full iced watch desire. lanikai
I'd find someone in Japan !!.. the problem is "if" it were replicated where our usual reps are made.. the quality of the CZ's and the workmanship of the settings would be terribly lacking,... I wouldn't want to ask the price from Honpo.. A~C L
rek001
I wouldn't wear it but, that Jacob is kinda cool actually. I look at Honpo's site on a regular basis too, and I'm fascinated by the fact that they have stuff our dealers don't have access to. Why is that? Anyway, maybe a Japanese member could help you out with this, good luck.

That is what surprised me. The workmanship looks to be really good. The stones are expertly set. Most of the cheap iced reps are just glued in although I have had a few really good iced Rolexes. The prices are about $1,000 but if it is good quality like in the pics it is worth it IMO.

For 1k and if the CZ's are actually bright cut settings then that is a good price considering the time .. wonder if they have machined setting these day's .. I couldn't see them have stone setters .. for that price.. I'd go with the SS ... L
By-Tor
Yeah he gets most stuff before other dealers... but I wouldn't recommend Honpo. I recall he took the money and run from several veteran members in the old RWG.

Demsey
... but I wouldn't recommend Honpo. I recall he took the money and run from several veteran members in the old RWG. Whenever people mention 'Honpo' I always thought he was the guy who ripped off 'Slayer' and a few others and wondered why people still hold him in any regard. Slayer had Honpo's home phone number and traced it to Florida. He gave me as much info as he had and a friend in law enforcement tracked down his address and name. He lived for a while in Melbourne, FL, and everything, I mean everything, in this guy's world was in his wife's name. The site does have some good stuff tho' I will agree. Maybe his dealing with Japanese clientele only is a God send. Nice watch J. I'd like to see you have one. Definately a player's special.
jfreeman420
Yeah, I remember a member getting ripped off as well that is why I wouldn't consider ordering from them. I do remember a time however when honpo was held in high regard. I hope these jacobs make it to the mainstream and i hope they come out with a high quality iced bracelet as well. Maybe I'm hoping for too much. My iced jacob just isn't doing it for me. I had a date a few weeks ago and I wore this watch. The girl was mesmerized and commented on it a few times. It does sparkle nicely in the dim light of Shula's Steakhouse. I was so upset with the poor quality I had to tell her it was fake. She didn't seem to care and that sure was good for me .... Nice watch J. I'd like to see you have one. Definately a player's special. Thanks. Here's mine in case you missed it.
