hackR Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 wondering if there's ideas out there on how to tone down the sheen of a standard dealer pvd PAM -- which as you all know, is not bead-blasted?...thinkin it would be cool to age/distress it -- if that can be done thru some chemical kinda process... any ideas on dulling the sheen and/or aging/distressing welcome... thanks... R-
vlydog Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Although I have not tried it myself, I remember Uncle Jay explaining his method of using Cape Cod cloth at our Tri-State GTG. 82Kuba was also present and he may have tried it also. It may be worthwhile to ping him to see what his results were.

Guest HaloArchive Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I dont have the PAM but, what I have done before is set the case in the oven and bake it You could also but some baby powder on it and bake it. It will give it a sort of TI PVD look Cheers! H

hiker01 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Try this! If that won't work, try ScotchBrite and detergent! Soak the case in the detergent for a half and hour, then just scrub gently! Depends on the effect you want, you could go hard! This is what I came out with: Good luck! F-

PM for info J so you grabbed that beauty...NICE PICK-UP! @siesta, like wolf said...old school dsn 202...try it out my friend, maybe an hour of cape cod and it seriously looks similar to a dlc'd lead pencil grey
