Light Box Arrival

Ok, so I took Redwatch's advice and bought a lightbox. It is pretty cool. Takes a little getting used to and it would help to have a completely blacked out room, but I think these turned out ok. Please give me any advice/criticism you deem fit :thumbsupsmileyanim: I am still working on reflections and white balance...I'll get 'er figured out soon enough...

Use a white piece of paper. On the D60 hit the menu button>camera>white balance>select "Pre">select "Yes" to overwrite existing data. It will ask you to take a picture of white or grey. Take a picture of the white piece of paper (make sure it fills the viewfinder and make sure the paper is inside the light box so it is getting the light the same way that the watches are. This will help with your white balance setting.

As for the reflections, try it at night and turn out the lights in the room you are taking the pictures in. Set up your shot first though! :D

Also, based on the suggestions from the Philospher, try setting the camera to Aperture Priority and set the F stop to 16 or 18. This will help with the DOF and also minimize light flares. It's something that you need to experiment a lot with!

Which lens do you have again?

@Red these were taken with the Kit 18-55mm lens with the camera all the way in the box. I had read philosophers post and had taken the pictures at settings between 8 and 22 just to see how they turned out. It's amazing how the Aperture adjustments can change the DOF so much. I am waiting for some thunderheads to roll in so I can take some "Nature Shots" with clouds and foreground in focus...

@Cats - 2 and I tried the 2 with an overhead florescent for a couple of shots...
