Hello Everyone,

A friend of mine is looking for a gen watch. The price is between $1400 and $2000 he is looking to spend. Do you guys know of any good deals right now on a PAM, Breit, IWC etc?

Thanks~

H

Unfortunately, in that price range that you mention none of the watches you listed will be attainable in a new form. You might have some luck in a clean used iteration, but in that price range I'd highly recommend either a new Omega Seamaster Professional or a slightly used Omega Planet Ocean. I've owned both and still own the PO and I don't think you can go wrong with either. Good luck.

You can get a very nice BALL watch for that price range.

Not many people know about BALL Watches. I have three of them and are probably the best value dollar for dollar. The watches are very well made, especially the BALL Engineer Master II Diver.

You can also get a nice ORIS from www.authenticwatches.com

You can get brand new Gens in that price range on the Grey market. A few Breitling and Omega models are attainable. I know a Breitling SOSF on rubber strap goes for about $2000 new on the grey market. The only thing is with grey market, you do not get any kid of warranty and in some case the serial numbers are removed. The pieces are still Gen. though. :drinks:

No, you will not be getting any of those gens in that price range. That said, you will be buying a used watch of course and your friend might look to Omega, Bucherer, Tissot, etc. where some actual bargains can be found in that price range.

Good Luck!

A co-worker of mine has a fairly impressive looking Tissot automatic. The Tissots are priced (automatic) from about $350.00 to $2,500.00.

See: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_0_18?url=search-alias%3Dwatches&field-keywords=tissot+watches+men+automatic&sprefix=tissot+watches+men

I don't know what movement they use however.

Their website lists the movements: http://www.tissot.ch/?mod_collections

He likes just about every style. He is more towards Chrono though. He loved the 3717 in the AD. So, most likely pilots style/chrono. He also likes Divers like Subs etc. The PO he said was too big for him (he tried the 45.5). Breitling is pretty much out of the picture because it is way too fat. He said he would like a PAM but, they are always so expensive; even in the used market.

In that case, Hamilton makes some cool stuff. I have a Khaki Chrono that I'm super happy with.

It gains less than 1 second per day.

Mine is 38mm, but they also make a 42mm with styling similar to the 3717:
