Watchmaker's Loupe

After two years of collecting I still do not own a Jeweler's loupe.

If I were to purchase one, what would be the best all around magnification?

I use a 3 1/2 and a 10 for the finer work

I use a 5x and a 12x

So I guess, just for viewing and not for working, the smaller magnification would be sufficient; right?

I tend to work with the 3.5 most of the time and the 10 only if i am working on hair springs, after a while it is often easier to work with out as the feel is often more important.

4x is probably best for all-around use.

I use a 4X 99% of the time, in fact it's on my glasses now...
