Help Needed With 45mm Po

Polynomial

Recommended Posts

Guys, does anybody know well the new 45mm PO's, we had loads of detailed reviews on the 42mm version, but I can't seem to pin down as clearly the 45 model; basically is the current version of 45 on the same level as the 4th gen 42?

Also, can't seem to be able to find gator straps for the 22mm Omega, only rubber...

There are two models of 45mm PO out there, which I refer to as 45/20 and 45/22 as they differ in lug width (22mm is the correct lug width for a genuine).

45/20 comes with both Asian and ETA2836 movements and both models use the same case, caseback and bezel. There are detail difference between the faces and crowns used on the two models. Easiest way to tell them apart is the slightly different date font (ETA version is most true to gen) and the smaller hour markers on the Asian. Unfortunately the lug size is an insurmountable flaw.

45/22 comes only with ETA 2836 movement. The case, strap and bezel are the best yet available, but the watch is let down in so many other ways - hands are too short and in fact from the 42mm ETA version. Date font is completely wrong, hour markers too small and the crown is completely inaccurate. The caseback, while correctly marked, is also too fat and deep.

The really sad thing is that a mix of the best parts from both reps would produce a 98% accurate 45mm PO.
