magnusson_r
Hi all--Don't people *importing* a rep. watch run risk of importing through the regular mail services (which may be opened by border)? Or even through Fedex, UPS etc.? (maybe that's safer, i don't know). I know that it is illegal to import for commercial puproses, and so unless you're importing more than one watch the RCMP or US police probably will not prosecute over just one watch(but who knows--they might! and why risk it!) Anyway, I just wonder how people buy and sell so many of these rep watches through the mail, cross-border. cheers
freddy333
Importing contraband (replicas) is illegal (misdemeanor) in many countries, but is rarely prosecuted. In the vast majority of cases, the watch, if discovered by customs, is simply confiscated. However, if you purchase from the recommended collectors (search the Collectors forum), you should not have a problem importing 1 watch (at a time) into UK/US/Canada. lanikai
+1 to freddy's post.. also .. it may be a good idea to use a mail service (not PO box) as an alternative address to your home mail.. I do this .. I have had issues with parcels coming from Thailand and Hong Kong.. once this happens your addy is flagged by customs so the convenience to change addy's comes in handy ..
