If you are mechanically inclined. It might be an easy fix. Before you send it out, check the following (this is an old pic of a gen 7750 btw)

Check the arm (circled) on the operating lever. This arm should be applying pressure to the back of the other piece with the pivot. Sometimes the arm gets dislodged, so this could have happened when the watch hit the ground. If dislodged, use a small screw driver and move the arm back into place. DO NOT LIFT UP ON THE ARM. Gently push the thin part of the arm outwards until it properly sits as shown. Then try starting/stopping the chrono again. See if that works.

If that doesn't work, then it might be something more severe, then...yes...send it to someone like The Zigmeister to get it repaired
