Goochenbrau Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Is it possible to just swap out an asian movement in a sub with a swiss one?
socom Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Should be possible. You might have to change the hands, though.
RWG Technical Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Hands will not fit, dial feet will have to be cut off and the dial glued to the movement, new stem required, most asians have a plastic case retainer ring which will not work on the swiss one...and the cost of all the parts and the time to do the work, is probably close to $150-200... Cheaper to simply buy a Swiss powered model... RG

RWG Technical Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 The master is back. No one ever accused me of not telling it as I see it, or being honest... RG
Linder Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 When Spock calls The Zigmeister the master, you know The Zigmeister must be special

Bignasty Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 What The Zigmeister said! But seriously it can be done but its only practical if you can obtain a swiss movement cheaply. Also another issue is the date font. You'll need a properly aligned overlay for the date font. This is not uniform from model to model either. Jon
