  1. watch me eat a burger. Im really good at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFQJPeuU5H8
  2. If I was to drop $400 on a rep right now, Id go with the new Chopard. I know it has a risky movement, but I really like that watch! I'd take the remaining cash from the $400 and put it towards a The Zigmeister servicing.
  3. I wouldnt, unless I was giving it to someone like the people who post on this board. You're going to look real silly when the bezel of that "gen" rolex falls off your girlfriend's wrist at the mall.
  4. I definately want one of the new Chopards, but I think they are over priced, so I dont know. Im still toying with the idea of buying a gen Panerai
  5. Ubi is definately a great resource for watch knowledge, and I really appreciate the time and energy he dedicated to this board!!
  6. I couldnt agree with you more. The model is $100 over priced. I would never buy a replica with an asian 7750 for that price. Im starting to think that person picking the price point for replicas is overestimating the consumers' price inelasticity.
  7. not to mention his email and link to where he can be contacted is listed twice!!
  8. This isnt new, but I cant get enough of it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll8Qm8yDj-8
  9. Well, keep in mind that all the people who get scores like yours apply to the same places. The vast majority of the prejudice in the American system is a result of affirmative action, and other quotes designed at promoting diversity within the student body. Im not saying its a bad thing, but I think legacy is a much smaller part of the favoritism going on in US schools.
  10. Hmm, that is strange. You should have applied to schools like Georgetown, UPenn, or Univ of Chicago as safety schools (I went to Penn & UChi, but not for law). Perhaps there was something about your personal statement that they did not like... That being said, your scores and GPA kick ass. I would consider rewriting your personal statement (talk about how you want to help the poor) and submit every year your LSAT score is valid. Also, if you have ever been arrested for ANYTHING, you must disclose it to US law schools because of the American Bar background checks. Any lying is grounds for automatic rejection.
  11. A quick clarification, this discussion is about chrono 7750's only, right?
  12. http://stores.ebay.com/WATCHES-LIMITED I am considering buying a Seiko Monster Divers watch from this seller on Ebay. Has anyone had any experience with them? They are based in Singapore.
  13. Throw a Yacht-Master on one of those.
  14. Im looking for a bracelet for a modern 14060. Honestly, I dont know my price range yet. Im still trying to see what the prices are like. Im willing to buy used as well.
  15. Im looking for a gen SS bracelet for a Rolex Submariner, but I havent found much (I have only searche Ebay and TimeZone). Does anyone know of a good source for a gen bracelet? Thanks!
  16. Cool story. Ive been involved with a few political consulting firms in Washington for sometime, and the watch of choice among political insiders is definately Panerai. A well known political consultant showed me his collection once, and it was quite something. He had about $200k in Panerai and IWC peices.
  17. Id buy one. Ive always wanted a U Boat, but I always thought they were overpriced for what you get, so a rep would be perfect for me.
  18. Do you watch the show Curb Your Enthusiasm? In one of the episodes, Larry David goes to a jewelry store to buy a bracelet for his wife, but he is wearing his "gym clothes." (he looked like [censored]) When he walks up to the door of the jewelry store, the woman working there notices what he is wearing and immediately locks the door thinking he is a street bum kinda the opposite situation of yours
  19. Clipless pedals (ironic name since you have to clip them to the bottom of your cycling shoes) are never sold with the bike. Since the majority of road bikers use these clipless pedals, it is pointless to include generic pedals you would see on any old bike (the type of pedal you are probably familar with). So it is just easier to not include pedals with the bike. If generic pedals are include, these are seen more as a temporary pedal for those new to the sport who are uncomfortable with clipping their shoes into their pedals. A more experienced rider will replace it immediately.
  20. Now, we're talking! I only do road biking, and I never do it for commuting. I appreciate the sport of cycling, and it is great exercise. I have two road bikes. One is a Colnago Extreme C. This is the commerical version of the bike used by the Rabobank team back in the 2005 tour de france. I also have a Trek 1400 2006 version. I think this is the best value road bike out there.
  21. I interpreted that to mean that he was selling them as gens.
  22. I love stories like this. I try to have as many converstations like this as I can when abroad (as long as the environment is safe), especially on business trips. You never know what drives people until you ask. Plus, I like to debunk stereotypes of Americans one person at a time.
  23. If it was me, Id go with something like that too. But, again, I dont wear a watch at all when cycling. I know Lance wore a watch with a metal bracelet, at least during some parts, of the tour de france. Similiar to what Jeff G said, I think a watch is bothersome, espeically if it has a steel bracelet. I have a poster where the watch is almost full size, but half of it is cut off by another cyclists handle bars so I cant make out what brand. Im sure some of the experts here could itentify it. Anyway, heres a little proof that Lance is A-OK with wearing watching while riding
  24. Im an avid cyclist as well, and I have never worn a rep while cycling for the same reasons you mentioned. Personally, I never wear watches while cycling. I have the time on my CAT EYE anyway. If you really want to wear a watch, Id stick to gens.
