ryyannon Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Ok guys, I've done the 'search' so now I'm reduced to doing the noobie lurch: Where the devil has http://www.silix-prime.com gone? Get through to watchsilix fine, but no way to connect to the former.... Anyone know what's up with that?
Linder Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 It's just slow. Very, very.. very... very.... slow..
ryyannon Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 It's just slow. Very, very.. very... very.... slow.. very, very...very.... Timed-out! I'll keep trying.... Thanks for the info, Linder! Post Scriptum: This is not even a case of the old 'slow boat to China' syndrome. No way. Keep getting 'Unable to Connect' message after interminable wait - and I'm on a fast cable connection....
Linder Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Want me to look something up for you?
ryyannon Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 Want me to look something up for you? Chalk one up on the kindness board for you, Linder.... Thanks for the offer, but I just wanted to browse and see what's new with Jay & Co. "The full moon brings happiness to the impatient suitor".... (Ancient Chinese Proverb) Another Post-Scriptum: Hey, I finally got through! Someone must have started pedalling the bike generator that powers the server.....
Everythingape Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 You might already have tried it, but just in case: I tried browsing the site with Firefox, and it went about twice as fast...
ryyannon Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 it works for me. That's because you've got your Blue Mojo bracelet working for you...
Chronus Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I can't seem to access http://www.silixwatch.com/ it keeps asking for Helm login and password, and this is linked off silix-prime!
Pugwash Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I can't seem to access http://www.silixwatch.com/ it keeps asking for Helm login and password, and this is linked off silix-prime! This is why the cool kids visit http://watchsilix.com instead.
ehtolcad Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 guys it's the weekend, and we all know how silix goes on the weekend...
Linder Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 I once had a bunch of telecommunications equipment in a building that turned off the air conditioner every weekend at 5PM on Friday. The outages we were having to troubleshoote remotely due to the heat almost drove me crazy
